Orange Wap - can't access and being told nothing they can do
Options
Hi all,
I'm on a pay monthly with Orange, which includes unlimited mobile internet access.
I'm using an unlocked N95 8Gb.
However, since day 1, the service hasn't worked right with them, it keeps crashing/timing out or I get packet data connection errors.
I've contacted Orange several times, did hard resets, manual configs, everything.
It's still acting up.
Orange have now contacted me and said "it isn't an Orange branded handset, so there's nothing we can do".
Is this right?
Surely it shouldn't matter if I'm using a branded handset or not - the whole point is their internet service isn't working with my phone.
I pay for access and they can't give me it.
They won't even let me change my plan despite being unable to access the net.
Anyone know if they can get away with this, am I stuck in this rubbish deal?
Thanks in advance

a) get the settings sent to you again (direct from nokia website)
- Get GPRS WAP and GPRS Internet sent.
b) I believe Orange Internet isn't working at present. Best to change to GPRS WAP at the moment (this limits certain things like access to pop3 email and 3G TV, but access will be fast on standard pages)

pS) for your non-Orange handset they support you to a certain degree, but they cannot guarantee a non-Orange handset to work. There's so many things that can go wrong and Orange dont have control over the software on your handset. Try contacting Nokia - they may be able to help.Information provided is offered as a guide, and should not be deemed to be 100% accurate/correct. So long as the internet service is available with the Orange sim card then they are performing all of their duties.
It is the handset which is not allowing you to access the internet, and since Orange did not provide this handset it is nothing to do with them. Unfortunately unlocked handsets are not guaranteed to work with every network.I accept no liability if you chose to rely on my advice.0 -
If it's any consolation, I can't access orange WAP internet either.0
