If you go to https://www.asda.com, on the frontpage they are selling loads of local nostalgic photos of where you live. I had a brilliant time looking through them, but the prices arent the cheapest.
Would definitely make a good present for someone :)

My son was given a personalised book with family names in 21 years ago (he'll be 24 next month!) and we still have it! If you go for something like this, put everyone in if you can - even the babies. His youngest cousin was under a year at the time and was left out, and it seems such a shame now that her name is the only one missing. Even at 4 he wondered why she wasn't included in the adventure!

  • www.groovychocolate.com are fantastic. They cost £9.95 plus £1.95 p&p. They are a large slab of chocolate that you can personalise. Either choose one of their own designs or upload one of yours and then add your message.

When you first sign up you get 2 free "brownie" points, then with every purchase they give you 2 more points. When you've got 10 points you can buy a groovy chocolate for free (just £1.95 p&p to pay.)

I've used them loads of times and they are very reliable. Packaged really well and the chocs good too. People that we've sent them too have loved them.

http://www.snapdragon-books.co.uk is a brilliant company based in Devon that produces a personalised book, mainly for children aged 2 - 8 years but their website says they can adapt it to suit any age.

They include a colour photograph of the starring child/person within the story. They personalise all the text throughout the story, including the child's name, home town, friends and a personal message from you in the front of the book. They are also very happy to add any extra information at no extra charge, as I had this done in my book.

This is all available from their website for £15 including post and packing to the UK. Order quickly for Christmas as it will probably get busy. It says on their website that the last day for UK orders is 18th December.

The order process is also very easy. I just sailed through, and paid via PayPal.

I think this is a brilliant deal, especially because of the photo for such a great price. (Cheaper than what Martin said was an average price!) I found my book and the service great, and would order again and again! They are brilliant!

Note: The book isn't like the Disney books, it is a unique story in which your star actually stars. All of the text is built around the child/star as well - the image/photograph of the child is just great!
  • I've recently come across this website which I've found very useful for the 'hard to buy for'.

https://www.moonpig.com is fantastic! You can personalise greetings cards with all kinds of details (names, ages, all sorts) - and they professionaly print them and send them to you or directly to the recipient. They have a fantastic range of cards that you'll recognise as well as excellent spoof magazine covers and all sorts of good stuff.

https://www.presentsdirect.com have a range of presents that can be personalised also.

And https://www.terramundi.com will personalise money pots - they're brilliant, we bought about 10 at once with the names of all our nieces and nephews - Christmas sorted...

https://www.truprint.co.uk also lets you upload photos and make all sorts of gifts - calendars, memory books, etc.

Personalised Roses - Maybe not ideal for xmas but with valentines day just around the corner... https://www.rosesbydesign.co.uk
  • https://www.astrology21.co.uk does really cool personalised astrology reports that look really nice and are accurate as well as fun and inexpensive. One of them had maps of the constellations for the person's date time and place of birth, how personalised is that! They start at £5 and go up to £15.

I ordered some for my dad who's into sky watching and I know he'll love it. I printed the maps onto glossy paper and put them in frames and now I've got a really cool present to give him that I know noone else will've bought. I'm hopeless at thinking of one-offs like that so this was a really good idea for me :xmassmile
