  • Great thread....inspiring people to de-clutter and make some money at the same time.
I have made £2640 from ebay in 8 months and its paying for a skiing holiday!!!
I have 3 boxes, 1 for ebay and if the item doesnt sell after 2 listings i put it in box number 2 which is bootsale box, if i cannot sell at bootsale then i put it in box 3 for the charity shop.
I'm trying to list approx 10 items a day and find it easier then listing huge amounts in one go and then struggling with the posting.

    Keep up the good work.

Thank you for your lovely words of encouragement! It's great to hear of people paying off debts or raising funds for a project by selling stuff on eBay.

I've decided that I shall do a couple of listings to start tonight. If it's not on, it can't sell ;)

  • Everyone has done brilliantly, I'm going to try and list at least one a day, hopefully more than that, need to put away everything that I've listed so far and see what else I can find, really need to try and make as much money as possible before Xmas.

Just out of interested what sort of things are people listing, my stuff is mainly kids/baby clothes, a few toys, books and comics and little bits and pieces.

PS. Roll on the next free listing day, do you think they'll have another one before Xmas.

In past years they have always had a cheap or free day about 10 days before Christmas Eve, just close enough to be tempting but too close to be of any use for Christmas stuff.

  • What is the point of Best Offers?

I saw a kids dress on Ebay, was up for £5.99 with Best Offer. I offered £4.80 p&p was £2.99 second class.

I have had a Counter offer back of £5.50, 49p less than the BIN price - what's the point, why not just put it up for £5.50.

    Think I'll leave it!!!

  • How do you find selling on Amazon? Ive nevefr sold on there was going to list some books but put me off when saw people selling for 1p!!! Tried Greenmetropolis £3 a book but only get a sale on there every few weeks if that so whats the thing with Amazon??[

QUOTE=Karmacat;14890941]Thanks Floxxie - yes, it was me that mentioned ebid. I haven't actually used it yet, just found it after I saw a mention on here, but it won an award as the best alternative to ebay in the summer. Like amazon, it only charges its fees once you've sold something, and I like the sound of that. Over this weekend, cos I'm doing a mystery shop and hopefully a matched bet, I'd just carry on listing my books on amazon for now.

The picture of what we're aiming for - well, *being* df would be nice! What I'm actually doing at the moment is putting everything I get thats extra into a separate account - when its up to £500, I'll pay another lump off the mortgage, since my loan is a weird one which I actually reclaim tax on. If things get really bad tho, I'll take back my mortgage overpayments and repay the loan all in one, since its a lot going out every month, and that would help more with the cashflow immediately. Hope that makes sense ....[/QUOTE]
  • While my little boy was asleep yesterday i lited things on turbo lister2, when i came to upload them it wouldn't let me upload them all. It said some of the items wasn't in a leaf catorgory and therefore they couldn't calculate fees, any ideas anyone??? I have 38 things listed which i'm very proud of, I find it really hard to find time to list as i have a 1 year old and 3 year old and I work part-time.
