  • Well done Floxxie on getting 95% in your assignment - that is fantastic.

I know what you mean about all the boxes and stuff about, my office here is full of stuff, it's so messy, when I list things I put them to one side and then take them up and put them away upstairs until such time as they sell. Hopefully can spend some time tomorrow condensing boxes.

ooo maybe i should look at amazon.. but some reason i put it off.. well done on the cd sale! and the book sale... am i missing out? gonna try low p and p say 50p night

Here is the Amazon info thread http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1505085
Definately read it and get on there. I've sold books for £120+, Toys for £70+, Vinyl for £20+ and even a VHS video for £40. All these were at work but I have some of my own stuff on there too and have had some great sales. I've got a DVD box set on there at the moment which is worth £60 and I only paid £4 for it, watched it once and then listed it

I can't believe I came top of the listers list yesterday :jthanks Sleepless

  • Oh I am so annoyed.
Sold an item for 99p, then the buyer announces its to be sent to Sri Lanka:mad:, anyway I went on the royal mail site worked out the postage and the cheapest air mail worked out at £4.95, so as it would have to be securely wrapped with plenty of bubble wrap I said £5.50. the buyer is now saying its to high and sendiong me lots of links to other things he could have bought off ebay for less postage:mad:
I had UK only postage and please ask for other postage

Why oh why dont they just ask for the postage before they bid. I had one to France a couple of months ago and I ended up paying an extra £5.00 postage as I wanted it signed for, but as it was for £75 I didnt mind so much, but with a 99p sale there is no lea way.

Any my rant for the morning over. good luck with the listings this weekend everyone:D

    Hi

Can you set your listings so that buyers in countries you don't post to are unable to bid. There is a way to do it, I think in Preferences or something if you revise the item (or do it through Turbolister - would have to check though).

I wouldn't send it if you are going to make a loss, you can open a dispute saying that the buyers is in a country you don't post to.

  • Thanks TMD, its not that I mind posting any where, but they should ask first, and to be fair most do.

I have looked at the links the person has given me saying it would be cheaper options for them and they are all UK postage too:rolleyes:
  • Right, am trying to list an item on Amazon, I have an account for buying and it asked me to log in but it didn't accept my password, should I create a new account for selling? I looked up the item I want to list (children's stories on cassette) and there are about 7 used items but none new (mine is new and sealed) the cheapest used one is 2.98, the expensive used one is £7, so what should I list mine at? It had a price of £10.78 which I assume is what it is worth new so not sure what to list it at.

If Amazon sell it at £10.78 the person purchasing it will not have to pay postage. When you list yours, on the last page, it will tell you how much postage will be charged to the buyer. Make sure including that postage your item will still be cheaper than the one Amazon itself has listed, making yours the cheaper overall and then yours should sell easily.

You don't need another password for Amazon buying or selling though. Log in as if you were going to buy and then set up seller account (I think thats right) :)
