Help! I need some advice please from you ladies/lads who list! I realise most people are busy on Saturday afternoons but maybe someone will be out there dutifly eBaying or MSE'ing and see my plea!
I want to list a BNWT Monsoon black and white linen dress which I bought last year for £85 for a function which I never attended. It's been sat in my wardrobe and I would like to sell it but I'm wondering what I should put as a starting price or should I just go with a buy it now price
Obviously I would like to get as much as I can for it but equally I would like to sell it and not put a price which people aren't going to bother with.
What does anyone suggest? I know there are so many of you expert eBayers out there so all opinions welcome!:T

Hi Stolli have you had a look on ebay for items similar to yours and see what the price is like? that will give you an idea on a starting price. i'd be tempted to start it as an auction at a price you're happy with.
The few monsoon items i've sold all sold well and a bidding war usually starts on most of the items!
good luck!0 -
Thanks PR! I can't see anything exactly the same... I guess my other quandry is that the Monsoon sale is currently on so I'm not sure if that will have an effect on my selling it.
Silly isn't it but it's such a lovely dress which I'm reluctant to sell but I really don't NEED it. I just want to get as close to actual price as I can (greedy I know).Light Bulb Moment 4th January 2009 :eek:Started DMP 1st April 2009 :ADMP mutual support thread member: 267 :j0 -
i'd list it. since its from last year it probably wont be available anymore and if there aren't many/any of them on ebay chances are it will sell well.
I'm the same, i have a dress i bought for a wedding but ended up not wearing it and should sell it but i don't really want to! but i need the money more.0 -
hi everyone
just about to update my totals, have been quite lazy this month, so maybe only making around £200 - that includes a mattress and a computer desk as well as the clothes, shoes etc so not to be sniffed at!
i have lots of descriptions written, so will be taking the pics 2moro, and loading everything onto tl! seeing as i have my new pc it is so much faster so shouldn't take half as long! i have 33 items listed at the minute so should hopefully list about 30 2moro!
st0lli i would list the dress as auction at say the minimum you would take for it. you could also put a note for people to contact you if they want a buy it now price - something like that might work0 -
Thanks both... I'll give it a go and see what happens. I just wonder if a start price of £39.99 will put people off... Oh well I'll give it a go and if it does get anymore I'll be happy (I hope!)Light Bulb Moment 4th January 2009 :eek:Started DMP 1st April 2009 :ADMP mutual support thread member: 267 :j0

I listed 5 more items today and can't believe the cheek of some people, one person messaged me to ask why I am listing so many pairs of shoes and "didn't I sell a pair like that last week" tsk, cheek! What's it to them! Yes I am selling a lot, but all is necessary!0

hi everyone - having a nightmare with this buyer from portugal about this ipod mp3 thing!
to cut a long story short - i bought it from sum1 in work as bn no box. turns out it has been loaded with songs so my ebay buyer isn't happy (understandably) they only paid £4 odd for it, and i have offered a full refund. they also want me to pay the return postage which i have refused to do so far. i contacted ebay customer support, and they have said i didn't even need to offer refund! told buyer this but they say i should check paypal policies as they are different! i have emailed paypal so waiting on response!
please help! anyone know what i need to do? i thought a full refund would be more than fair! but obviously not!!!
please help!all advice welcomed!0 -
Hi cc,
The buyer has to return the item to you before you issue the refund. They take the cost of postage (although some people do refund their postage). If the item does not get back to you, then you do no need to refund so it is in the interest of the buyer to use a trackable service.
Would it be such a deal for them to wipe the songs (if indeed there are any or are they the sample ones?).
Do not panic, let him take the Paypal route and you can say you'll take the return but buyer has to pay postage.Mortgage start September 2015 £90000 MFiT #060
