Well, after being upset all weekend & much of this week to find out that my daughter didn't get one of our prefered choices, I got one further away!!! But I am not on my own so now I don't feel too bad, I feel that I must get back on track, sold a lamp & shade that I have been storing in my moms garage, for close on 10 years sold last nite for £21 plus postage. yipppeee, & I sold some more stuff, so it looks like, I am more focused & back on track.....
Postie just brought one item undelivered back to me, & another person has contact me to say that they never recieved their item... can I just ask do you use first, second post or recorded. ???
Thanks guys for all your help

Hi Ginga,
I always use first class recorded, as paypal guidelines usually ask you to send any eBay items via a tracked postal service.
I always keep my posting receipts in a safe place too, had a horrible time once trying to find a receipt that I'd thrown away for an item that wasn't received (three weeks after I'd posted...)
Hope that helps - and well done on your lampshade sale!June NSD's - 5/25

I send items recorded 90% of the time. Gives me better peace of mind!
5 items with bids now woo very chuffed! and a book i've relisted about 7 times now has 3 bids on it!! I'll be glad to see it finally go!
No time to do any more listings until the weekend. But will aim to do at least 10!0 -
A couple of items sold this lunch time and five more added on.
I send the majority of mine recorded delivery, but some go through standard mail. You should send recorded to be covered under paypal. I usually say if it's under a fiver I wont send recorded (I say that to myself lol) that way I'm not losing out on too much if it goes pear shaped.
I've got a long list of buyers who haven't left me feedback this week. I want to delete the listings but can't until they have left feedback.0 -
I don't bother with RD - if the item gets 'lost' then I claim back from the PO. It doesn't make sense for me to be adding the cost of RD to my posting and I often have unconfirmed addresses which are not covered under Paypal.
Personally think that Paypal have got us so wrapped up in buyer fraud and their wierd rules, that we have all become seriously cynical of buyers and as for sellers who suggest we can pay using something other than Paypal - do we feel we can trust them not to run off with our money??
Anyway, off for a run shortly and then back to magazine listings. Doing pretty well on selling to foreign buyers (using a non-trackable solutio of course)

i have to agree with you floxxie
recorded delievery is a waste of money in my experience,
When i worked in an office and dealt with post, it was thrown in the sack with all the other mail.
And at home, postman, if its a letter will post it thru the door & if its a parcel, leave on the doorstep!!0 -
im bit peeved tbh...sold an iphone but person says it doesnt work but there is no reason why it shouldnt. they are taking to apple shop on sat to see why and want refund... thats fine but they waited 2 weeks to tell me this. why not tell me straight away.
on the up side i sold 7 yesterday and will sell another 5 today.
even got bids on some books and random dvds.
have good eve

Unconfirmed addresses are covered now aren't they? I think so anyway, its quite a new rule but I am pretty sure that changed recently.
I also send second standard post as you can always claim the money back from RM with a proof of posting. I've only ever lost one item and got money back from a claim.
I've still not done any listings this week and don't feel very well today so must try harder over the long weekend. Might take Tuesday off work to get some done. To top it all off the shelving unit housing all items I have for sale and packaging materials collapsed while I was at work and the stuff is now all over the floor :mad:Not been here in years! Hi everyone. Make £10 a day challenge = £78.45/1550 -
I thought unconfirmed were included but on the Paypal site it still states that you have to send to a confirmed address. But I'm not surprised; they make the rules up as they go.
I did my run tonight and had dinner and now I am exhausted. Still haven't pressed the 'upload' button on my ready listings but will try extra, extra hard to put everything in the living room on at the weekend as a punishment for being lazy.
Out of the three challenges I did this month, my eBay one was the poorest. That's not good at all and I have got to concentrate on making it my most profitable this month.
