I use Zen. They are on the expensive side, but customer service is top notch  You actually get to speak to a human

  • can't complain at NTL, and I run 2 computers from the one modem via a wireless network. I'm paying them £9.99 at the mo for 1 mg broadband, unlimited download (it seems) + they look after your modem for you if it breaksdown or anything.

The best company in terms of speed/reliability/customer service has got to be Zen Internet. Look at the comparison tables on https://www.adslguide.org.uk they are not beaten by one single company in any of these categories (for the last six months).

They have just won the best broadband service provider award from PC Pro for the second time in two years.

The only downside (on a moneysaving site) is the cost, but at the end of the day, if you want top quality (and you really get this with this company) you have to pay a bit more.

    I'm on V21. V21

    It £11.99 a month for a 2mb service...I think.
Its capped at 2GB a month...
I think you need to ring up for this service  its not in their list.

You need a BT line for this and If you have your phone bil through them, they give you the 2mb service for £9.99.

    rob :rudolf:
p.s, I just looked on the website now, and they have an 8mb service for £9.98 .
I phoned them to upgrade mine for free, but you need to be near the exchange and / or have a good phone line to get the maximum 8mb.
I'm too far away to get this.
This is an amazing offer for those near enough to the exchange

  • Does anyone use Toucan??

I'm in the unfortunate position of being a Tiscali user(although hopefully not for much longer) and noticed that Toucan have 2Mb for £15.99 or £16.99 a month which seems a pretty good deal and i just wanted to see what current users think.
  • Sorry Hockeyboy, but I think that Toucan resell the Tiscali product.
  • Thought it was too good to be true.

    cheers

Zen are probably the cream of the crop, but for that you will pay a bit extra.

A small note of caution, V21 are not noted for being the best on customer service, especially if you are migrating away from them. Also you are tied in for 1 year, then 1 month's notice. I believe they charge an admin fee for MAC code as well (but am not absolutely sure on this point)
