An excellent question.
There is actually a legal precedent for this. In 1939 Germany took land from Poland for ethnicity reasons and also disputed excessive war repatriations.
Gordon Brown is quite politically savvy and it will not have escaped his attention how popular the German government became because of this action.
I did actually email Gordon Brown with a four point "action plan" (they like that jargon.
Basically ;
1. Decalre Iceland as a defaulting creditor. Thus, take goods/chattels to the approximate value. As you rightly imply, this equates to pretty much the whole country.
As our army a bit idle at the moment a modest task force of around 80,000 troops would suffice to strip the country bare.
2. Let them know we havent forgotten about the Cod War. Iceland cease, with immediate effect, to have any territorial claims over land or sea.
As such, they are denied access to any fishing waters beyond 1 metre from the country.
As a bonus, fish prices are rising sharply .. so that should get a bit of a cashfloew straight away.
3. Park a couple of nuclear subs outside the country. This is to safeguard British property and interests (ie what was Iceland).
Then, and here's the clever bit, leak to the press that their was a major security breach and we nearly popped one out from one of the subs by human error.
This will get their respect pretty sharpish.
4. Invoke a penalty clause for defaulting and distribute this to the sufferring British Icesave account holders.
I havent heard back from him yet but I only sent the email last night and I am sure he will get back to me when he gets home tonight.

I have a great suggestion, it can be the twenty first century version of deportation. Send prisioners to Iceland and free up the UK jails...0

I'm not really sure it's worth taking to be honest

Superb. Alternatively send the SAS and capture their primeminster and cabinet. That'll do the trickAn excellent question.

Apparently their glaciers are already melting due to climate change. I was told that, for the first time this year, they have been able to grow wheat.
This made me wonder - how did they know they would be able to grow wheat this year? Have they patiently been planting that wheat every year just in case and this year came up trumps?
However, the people of Iceland are just as much victims of their government and reckless financial people as we are. Looks like times might get pretty hard for a lot of them so I think they deserve our sympathy.0
