Agreed but a reference to reparations would be a good thing to remember, overly punishing those who've failed is not a good solution to the problem
Best idea is to work with iceland so they can pay their debts in due course, we know the nature of the problem and its down to insolvent credit world markets.
I would rather they work to pay back their money, I dont want a piece of iceland tbh
Considering how closely this trouble is coming to emulating the 30's its probably best we do the opposite of all the crap that went on then0 -
I dont really understand all these problems but still worry .
First it was Kwik save and now Iceland. I hope Tescos stay open - have you seen the prices at our corner shop, hardly moneysaving. On the internet you can be anything you want. It`s strange so many people choose to be rude and stupid.0 -
Welcome to pre-fascist Britain. We have a state that wants total control over us. Hearing Gordon Brown threaten to seize not only banking assets but all the assets of another country wasn’t as shocking as it might once have been.sabretoothtigger wrote: »Considering how closely this trouble is coming to emulating the 30's its probably best we do the opposite of all the crap that went on then古池や蛙飛込む水の音0 -
I'm starting to be more worried about the mentality shown by some people in this thread than the money I have locked in Icesave.0

I dont agree Brown is a control freak, that last deal announced was fairly balanced for free market vs support. Much better then what the market had credited him I think0

Not sure how far the idea of getting Icelanders to work off their debts would go...but can I lay down an early claim on Miss Iceland 2007? :cool:DFW - DEBT FREEEEEE!
Total - 10762/10762

I say as punshiment we just ship Kerry Katona out there.0

The first part of your post gives me an idea..... Each person who has an account with Icesave should get an Icelander and they can go back to Iceland once they have paid off their debt to the account holder! Think of it as a form of slave labour.
Superb idea. I'll have Miss Iceland (Miss World 2005) please. Oh, and stuff the FSCS compo :rotfl:
