Today I sorted the life insurance and tried to take the library books back - it was flooded :( so I couldn't

Had a nsd and went swimming and did 2 tutorings after school - one of them a block booking - so thats £220 for the pot.

In the next few days my priorities are having NSDs, getting to the gym, doing small bus work (tomorrow after work) and getting lots done at school.

Unfortunately for me, DD and I live near Brighton, probably a good thing or we'd be around raiding your allotment, sounds like you've got scrummy veggies there, lol

    Hi All
    A quick update:

    Income:
    1. :) Got a new tutoring customer - one that I had previously told was out of my area, anyway we agreed a higher fee to cover petrol, so thats fine!
    2. :) I will not give in - Been thinking about giving up breakfast club and lunch duty every day - I earn an extra £8/ day doing this, but I hardly have a minute to myself! But I keep saying to myself that I've done it for 2 years, don't be so lazy - and the £8 adds up!

    Expenditure
    1. :( spent £30 on two tops and a knecklece, all can be mixed ad matched for work or going out, and will last me through the festive season - I was feeling really drab and £30 wont break the bank I suppose!

    Other
    - Need tocheck online banking and send bank statement to new bank so they can pay my charges - they messed up my transfer.
    - Need to chase along transfer of home account - taking ages, yawn!!!
-need to check when flooded library will reopen to make sure they don't charge me for books I can't return!

I have had a really good few days, some time relaxing with OH, a lot of time doing school work at the weekend. I'm going for a higher rate of pay, so I need to be on the ball - this will hopefully positively affect my income in future years!

One thing I haven't been able to do was work on the small business or tutoring websites due to problems with my computer, software incompatability etc. so I was going to do that tonight, only to find the site is down arghhhh!

Despite having a lovely lovely day, I am now extremely frustrated waiting for the hosting company to sort it out, and have basically wasted my evening. boo. I also have another wasted evening tomorrow ahead of me, trying to do the same thing.

I have also volunteered to work on Saturday collecting donations of present to the local Childrens Hospice. I really don't mind doing it, but thought that others from the volunteer group would, well, volunteer! I am currently doing it on my own and it will be a long and boring Saturday for me! boo!

Right I'll go and do that letter to my bank and then ring the hosting company AGAIN!

    Hi Earthgirl

Well done for perservering with the breakfast club. Think of the top as being paid for by this money or maybe all special treats such as clothes and jewellry not really needed but lovely to have. May make it feel more worthwhile. I really don't know where you find the time to manage all your extra tutoring!

Hear, hear Chirpy, Earthy you're doing great and I agree, you should consider your frivolous spending of £30 on 3 items as a total bargain :) My DD would be proud of you, she says we're the "bargain girls" and I reckon she'd say you could join our 'gang' with those goodies :)

    Hi all,

Had a really busy week again, so here’s my update:

    Income
-Stuck with my breakfast club and lunch duty, and just put giving up out of my mind, it’s a little extra work for quite a lot of money over the week.
    - I’ve been working hard at school; again as I’m going for a higher rate of pay, this will affect my income. I need to keep this up and get lots done on Monday to keep ahead of the game!
-Can’t find any mystery shops at the moment- I’ll keep trying this week!

    Outgoings
    - Took one of the tops I bought last week back, it didn’t fit me properly, and I swapped it for a pair of pillows for us – with some change. We would have needed these pillows soon, so I can class this is necessity!
    - I managed to find two pairs of trousers and two tops in a charity shop instead, at a total cost of £11, so I’m really pleased with this!
    - I’m now thinking of giving up my allotment. This actually won’t have much effect on expenditure, as I pay £40 for the plot/year, and then spend around £20 on manure and seeds. I just don’t have enough time to do it properly, and although it looks lovely and its on track, it just makes me feel down when I go there at the moment - I feel like I haven’t got enough time to give to it to grow enough variety, and I don’t like the people there – someone has told me that another person has been stealing the produce off me that has been going missing. The last straw today was somebody digging up and stealing my apple tree (someone stole most of my apples this year anyway.) I kind of think I’ll be better off if I just grow what I can at home, even get some climbing apple trees with that £45/year.

If I was to give it up, I reckon I could find space for my two blackcurrant bushes, a few raspberry canes, a rhubarb plant, and my strawberries. I could then grow potatoes in a dustbin, lettuce in pots and tomatoes in a little greenhouse. In winter I could grow spinach and sprouts/cabbage. This would probably result in me having less produce, but loads more time! I could also spend more time foraging – red and blackcurrants, blackberries and damsons all grow on my lane in abundance. I’m in two minds, this is probably a knee jerk reaction to the latest theft, but I just feel its right to give it up now. I need all the time I can get for earning money and perhaps one day if we have a family…. We will see!

    Other:
Well my priorities for this week are:
Health, got to commit to improving my health, dad has just found out hes got diabities, heart problems etc I want to stay as healthy as possible for as long as possible.
    - continue to work hard at work, but don’t get too stressed out, and don’t volunteer for anything else until I have cleared the backlog! Get as much done as possible on Monday, and then just maintain all week.
    - Have a healthy eating week (had a bad eating week this week, including spending £5 on fatty food and chocolate, shame on me!) I vow to have a ns week on snacks, and stick to my fruit and a little bit of last years xmas cake if I’m hungry!
    - I will also do three high impact workouts at the gym (Tues, thurs and Sat mornings). Since I’ve joined the gym I’ve been at least every other day so I’m pleased with that – just need to sop scoffing!
    - Make sure I relax with oh one night in the week (OH cooked me a candlelit dinner on Friday, perhaps I should return the favour!)

    Small business
    - Sort out the ongoing software saga, update pages via web admin until problem resolved.
    - Do 3 hours of promotion tasks (Tuesday night)

    Misc.
I’ve decided I hate cleaning so much at the weekend, I will try to do a little bit every other day during the week, (Mon wet rooms, Wed dusting, Fri Hoover) I will add ironing on at a later date!
    - I’m going to visit my family at the weekend, a mystery shop in their area would cover petrol – fingers crossed one comes up!

That's outrageous that someone would steal your fruit tree, I hope something slightly nasty happens to them soon. Such bad karma :(

Well done on the charity shop finds :)
