How satisfied are you with your current bank?

How satisfied are you financially, practically and sexually with your current banking arrangements? What's good about your bank and what is not so good? Which bank is it you're with? Are you looking to move to another bank and if so which one?:j

Good and bad. This faster payments fiasco is a pain - the 'not knowing' when any particular bank will join in - and whether they will have 'second thoughts' and leave the party without telling the guests (Lloyds) It's great where it works, though..

I had an HSBC account closed summarily however - and I put that more down to inpersonal service and the 'exigencies' of the credit crunch rather than anything justified. Similarly Barclaycard (bless em) drop my credit limit every few months as I pay off a bit more of my life of balance card. It's weird. They can seen I've always paid on time - in fact I make money out them every month - but still they somehow act as if £200 less credit is another 'finger in the dyke' - pointless..

What reason did HSBC give for closing your account?

Only on phone transfers at the moment the last time I checked. If their 'Faster Payments' performance is as good as their Cash ISA transfer performance (I am still waiting, since early March), I wouldn't expect too much.

Having been a relatively satisfied customer of LTSB for well over 22 years, I am in the process of moving from them to HSBC and have complained about their abysmal service, as far as my ISA transfer is concerned, to the Financial Services Ombudsman Sevice.

They wrote and said that after a 'review' [hint: mine, and half a million other accounts] they didn't want to provide me with bank accounts any longer [good job, then, that it wasn't in their power to take away my First Direct account too!] When pressed (with a threat of a complaint to the Ombudsman) they opened up just a little and it seems the reason they didn't want me was because I was using them 'like a bank' [paying money in in order to make payments to third parties] Yes, I was shocked too after discovering that I'd been 'banking' with them all along - and clearly represented the kind of systemic evil threat they didn't want. So that was that...

What do you mean? Are you claiming they shut down another half a million customers account for no reason?
