Martin Lewis roasted for giving "diabolical" advice on C4

That interview was trash, it was like Brasseye spoof. Calling the advice "diabolical" was, er, diabolical. Money Savers.... Money Expert, no Money Experts, er whatever it's called simply provided a best buy table.Happy chappy0

Here here codger.
I cannot believe the crap Martin Lewis is getting for this. He's being used as a scapegoat. Do all you moaners know what a scapegoat is?
Here's a link
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/scapegoat
For those who invested more than £35k have only themselves to blame as Martin has mentioned it millions of times and the question has been asked on this forum millions of times, so much I get fed up of seeing the same question asked over and over again despite it being in the banking/saving guide.
I thank Martin Lewis for creating this site. I wasn't money savvy before know a lot more now and it's made me think more about what I'm doing with my money.
Believe it or not we are in the middle of a credit crisis, or didn't you know.
I think it's time for you to find another scapegoat and leave Martin alone. How about the greedy bankers for a start! They caused all this.
Moaners? Couse we dont agree with you?
Says you making a huge moaning thread?

To add to that, it's still not looking good. The dow jones has dropped another 600 points today.
It looks like we're heading for a global financial meltdown.
I can imagine Martin feels sick because he cannot stop this from happening just like you or I.
Spread your cash guys and hold on tight, we're in for a bumpy ride.0 -
I'm amongst those who put their savings in an ISA with Icesave. I've got £2500 sitting in there that I can't get at.
Not brilliant - but at the end of the day, it was my decision to go with that bank.
I can't blame Martin any more than I would blame him if I saw a cheap toaster mentioned on here and it went up it after a week. I still love you, Martin! xx0 -

Crikey .... sherry's been out tonight (I hope)
Its like a westlife fan site rather than an adult finance forum.
I dont even want to know your life journey to be reduced to that .. as presumably an adult (unless you were being ironic .. which hopefully you were)0 -
Good lord - this is like asking someone to pick a horse and blaming them when it doesn't win, after your friend told you about the perils of gambling.
I was looking at an ISA earlier in the year, looked at Icesave, read what MArtin said and thought that it might be a bit of a gamble.
People should read into anything before investing...
That was a poor stunt from Channel 4... for shame!0 -

Hello, wes:
Actually, what the poster posted was a post. Not a thread.
Do try to keep up: it's only good manners. And. . .
Manners might include a requirement to observe the courtesies of grammatical accuracy in a response to such a post -- as yours.
Or even, perhaps, some rudimentary attempt at spelling.
But as it's evident your grasp of language is as tenuous as your grasp of reality, I'll "learn some manners" (sic) and make no mention of it. Also: your contribution to this thread has already received the thanks of another highly discerning poster so no need for me to add to it, either.
Anyway, and like you, I don't have time to go around creating new IDs. People who do that really are sad, don't you think?

I think Channel 4 had every right to ask the questions asked, anything else would never have been a John Snow interview (the man that is lauded when a bank representative gets a roasting).
Martin has got his fingers burnt here, of course he isn't responsible - the risks were laid out for everyone to read but the moment a recommendation for Icesave was made, if anything ever went wrong there would be questions asked and for what its worth, he answered them very well. Part of the trouble is that if you describe yourself as an expert and get it wrong, people are going to have a go at you for it.
Lessons to be learnt but nothing more than that.0 -
