hi all!
Well, last night was fantastic. Dara O Briain is an incredibly funny and clever man, haven't laughed so much in ages.
That was the 'calm' within the eye of the storm so it's back to the blowing gale of work. chinese cookery 'find out about' course tonight so I've just had lunch whilst catching up, am off to chop all the stuff etc and get the car packed up.

Hello....
Sorry to keep you all in suspenders...
BB =- glad you had fun last night and good luck for tonight's class.
and so to Baby news: I had the scan and LB is still there, moving around a lot and generally showing off (somersaulting around). My downs risk before was 1:203, but the nuchal fold is 1.2-1.3mm, normal heart and liver flow and a nice clear nasal bone so my post scan risk is 1:2827!!! Even better the brain looks completely normal with absolutely no sign of anencephaly (a form of neural tube defect).
We've even been told with 70% confident the likely sex of LB.
And all of this means that I'm finally starting to believe that I'M GOING TO BE A MUMMY!:j :j :j
In slightly less good news, the fact that I have a septum in my uterus (little line, think heart shaped uterus rather than upside down pear) I might not get to full-term and the risk of breech or even LB lying across my belly has increased the need for monitoring and perhaps a C-Section but these are trifling matters in the grand scheme of things.

I hope it's a girl, wrapped in her heart shaped uterous, or maybe a boy.....I would love either

I think it is good news re the Downs, but I don't understand the figures
Hopefully you can avoid a caesarian as that is just something more to get over after having a baby (when you need all the energy and strength you can muster for YEARS :rotfl:)0 -
awww babes. i really don't fully understand all the medical whys and wherefores but i can tell by your attitude that this is all good!
re the uterus thingy - you'll be monitored so carefully, y'know things will be just right. Afterall, you work in the right place! and deserve 1st class treatment after all you do for them medics!

OO
I'd only want a C-Section if they'd promise to do a tummy-tuck at the same time!
But I've heard such horror stories about them from women that have had them (staples coming out, the smell, not being able to do anything or drive for 6 weeks) that I know I'll only have one if there's no other options; besides I'm certainly not too posh to push it out!DFW Nerd Club #545 Dealing With Our Debt
