Tiscali Get Out

Three weeks ago I stupidly signed up for one of Tiscali's "Broadband and Talk with FREE line rental packages". Before today the only information I had received was two pre-dated letters, one with my account details and another telling me that there was a problem with BT.
This morning I got a phone call from India? Telling me that Tiscali had been cancelled because of BT, I couldn't quite make out what he meant but knowing my luck he probably didn't mean the whole bundle. The phone call was before I managed to read the email (below) they sent to me at 05:52 this morning.
Is there a way that I can get out of this before being charged for anything?

hurm,
I also took up the offer, three weeks ago, but have not yet recieved my broadband package. After my mum sepnt an hour on the phone with Tiscali yesterday, they said I didnt have a BT line, which i know I do. I have got to phone them back this evening to see whats going on, because I paid to have the line installed by BT 2 months ago, i tried phoning it and it rings fine, I am not sure whats going on, but the three times i tried to phone the Tiscali call centre, it just hung up me and I start working from home next week.
Abusurd! Yes!!!!Debt free since July 2013! Woo hoo! The bank actually laughed when I said I have come in to cancel my overdraft.0 -
Could this be because you have signed up for a contract with BT (12 months?) that they maybe will not release you?0

nope! I signed up with The Post Office, who have no tie it period. They arranged for BT to install my line. and the BT man came out and did it.Debt free since July 2013! Woo hoo! The bank actually laughed when I said I have come in to cancel my overdraft.0

Although your phone was installed by a BT Openreach Engineer, you pay your line rental to the PO and are therefore at present a PO Customer not BT.
If you move your line rental to Tiscali problems can and do arise.See:

BT line rental here. Phoned Tiscali's customer support which was good as I think it's in Ireland? And they informed me that the order (broadband talk and line rental) had been cancelled, and they didn't know why. They asked me to re-order without obligation, which I haven't taken up.0
