Hear hear, absolutely agreed!
Disgraceful Iceland Government does not deserve our respects. Time to Boycott Iceland, until the days they re-earn our respect again.

Beautiful country. Bjork is great too.
The banks/government have a lot to answer for.0 -
If anyone who has had their money in Icesave stolen by the Icelandic government would like to make their opinions known to them, this is the email address for the Icelandic Embassy in London icemb.london@utn.stjr.is
With several billion of our pounds in their coffers, I guess they won't mind if we take a break from going on holiday there for the next few decades.0 -
Yes great, boycott those companies, cause even more British unemployment at this time. Fantastic idea. Can you imagine how many British jobs would be lost of all those companies you mentioned laid off even a quarter of their shop staff? And many of those staff would be from low income families who would be struggling to make ends meet at the moment anyway.
Bravo. You are a true patriot.0 -
I for one will be buying my frozen chips from Sainsbury's in future. That'll teach 'em!0

If you boycott businesses in the UK which have major Icelandic shareholdings then British people will lose their jobs. These people, mostly shop workers, are on a low salary anyway and with the present climate will find it difficult to find other work.
This is different however to boycotting Iceland the country, items imported from Iceland and any of it's actual services.I'm not cynical I'm realistic

Is Iceland collapsing?
In spite of the government's takeover of two banks in eight days, the Icelandic economy is not collapsing. The Icelandic government is virtually debt free, and that has not changed. The two nationalised banks will be run as separate entities, so the Icelandic government does not guarantee their obligations except that it has explicitly stated that all deposits are fully guaranteed.
Oh, really?!

They need to update the "virtually debt free" part! They now owe our government (ie. UK taxpayers) £4.5 billion.0 -
Always thought that kerry katona was a bit shifty
So yep I'm right behind the boycott iceland campaign
fantastic thread0 -
Time to boycott sainsbury's on that note (but use your nectar points first)!
