I hope you know what your doing!!!

    Here's my help !! :)

Open an Internet Explorer and connect to 192.168.1.1.

Click on the LHS where it says ADVANCE

Click on the ADVANCE link thats now in the middle.

Click on WIRELESS on the LHS

The default logon is admin and the password is admin

Click the link under "WIRELESS CONFIGURATION" that says "Encryption" and change to your hearts desire.

If you make a major mistake, theres a little recessed reset switch on the back!!
  • I think the 2091 is closer to the Voyager 205 than the 2100 so may be worth Googling for that ;-)

Yes, but the 2091 is wireless and the Voyager 205 has only a wired connection, so the manual for a 205 wouldn't help John configure his Wireless settings.

If anyone is interested in my researches, BT 'customer service' say that there is no manual for the Voyager 2091, but that "the manual for the Voyager 2000 ought to be about 90% accurate".

The manual for the Voyager 2000 can be downloaded in help file format or accessed online from the equivalent web page.

Thanks to those who made suggestions!

    Hi,

    Just to kidnap the thread.

    I haver a BT Vovager 2091.
I unlocked it and connected to TalkTalk no problems.
I have now bought another PC and want to connect it via the USB.
But the installation software asks for the BB username and it has to end with BT suffix. And my router is now set to TalkTalk.

I don't want to continue thru the set-up and screw up my nice unlock.

    and P.S........I'm the badger lol.

  • My understanding is that USB can be very hard to fix, and the people who know enough to crack the 2091 don't trust USB for this sort of hardware.

An easier solution might be to get a £10 wireless USB adapter and go in that way, but with new 4-port wireless routers dropping to around £25 maybe it's all getting a bit academic.

    Hi,

    Just to kidnap the thread.

    So far so good.

Don't use the USB port on the 2091, use one of the Ethernet ports. If your new PC does not have an Ethernet port, you could connect this new PC using a USB wireless adaptor or fit an Ethernet port.

I don't want to continue thru the set-up and screw up my nice unlock.

Your 2091 is now unlocked and can be used with any ISP, however your new PC needs to connect to your 2091, either using an Ethernet cable or using a wireless adaptor. As your 2091 is already connected to your ISP, there is no need use any installation software or to enter any username/password etc. i.e. several PC's can connect to the 2091 router, which is already connected to your ISP.

espresso (and I could do with an espresso at this hour),

1 - I only have 1 ethernet input to router and it's taken. The PC has ethernet, it's the router having only one that's my problem.

2 - I'm on the dole (and actually getting no money off them) so I'd rather use a USB cable I have sitting here that go and buy wireless option for the PC.

    Therefore my original problem stands.
I want to connect a 3rd PC to my router using the only wired connection means available - the USB ports. The software to allow this is provided by BT and is hard wired to only accept usernames that end @btinternet...

    ....and i'm now on TalkTalk.

If you connect an Ethernet switch to your router, you'll have more than enough ports for the foreseeable future. No need to muck about with USB or wireless then! :)
