Martins lost a lot of credibility I'm afraid, he may never recover from this.

Then why are you still here?

Do we think they saved with Icelandic banks after reading Martin's article?

Same old same old, people want a scapegoat... will blame anyone but themselves.

I don't doubt that Martin has saved millions over the years for people, whilst empowering them with a better awareness of how consumerism works. I know his articles have saved me hundreds! I thought he handled himself well against Jon Snow, and I still have confidence in him and his recomendations.

Yes, but you and me dont call ourselves a "financial guru" on TV like Martin does to be fair.

He messed up and led a lot of people not to invest there but to point them there for a good deal.

(And he got paid by Ice save for doing so remember)

You know, Martin is a low class phenomenon, he prospers (or prospered) if ordinary people trust him... he's not a corporate banker or a broker, he does not expose himself to fail working class people, as banks and other legal moneymakers do. I mean, Martin surely made his mistakes but he's not the villain to blame... not this time: adult people signed their Icelandic agreements and took personal responsibility because of ... (greed, revenge, put yours here) ...

"Risk zero" assumption has failed savers, not Martin's advice. Also easy Internet failed savers, imho.
  • To me 'money saving expert' means how to reduce spending, NOT which bank to put your money in though interest indicators are useful.

I did not use icesave because I felt Iceland was a small country, an unknown quantity. I have lost lot of moey in shares & Funds mentioned in websites - my own faullt.

If FSA fellows could not read the depth of icesave problems how can Martin? This just a website. It is up to us.
