Does this apply to existing customers aswell, I've had my card for over 4 years now.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -
I have about 7.5K on an Abbey card and want to BT at 0% with no fee to another card. According to Martin's Credit Card BT's article there are only Charity cards left with which I can do it ... but the summary boxes via the links show a 2% fee. If I check the T&Cs I find ;
5.2 We may charge a handling fee of 2% (at least £2) for balance transfers and cheques offered at special promotional rates other than a special promotional rate you received when your account was opened.
which I take to mean no fee when you take out the card ... anyone else think or know this is right or is it just me reading the way I hope to.

YEah, if Halifax offer you a BT rate, or send you cheques later on then they apply the BT fee. For the opening offer you should be OK0

Has anybody else received a letter form Amex offering 0% BT with a 2% fee capped at £40 for the life of the balance?
Clearly this a is a superb offer but when I spoke to them today they told me it was a mistake and they will offer 0% for 6 months only then reverting to standard rate. They claim to have spoken to Trading Standards and do not have to honour their written offer apparently.
Anbody else come across this one?
