great to have such a quick clear reply/ response.... with thanks !!!

sorry, but does this mean I can transfer to new cc an amount up to current credit limit on 2 cards ( circa 4K each ), assuming new card accepts, thus achieving a 4.9% loan ....eg on BA/ amex ..? ... with thanks .

Yes, you can transfer as many balances to a new card as your new credit limit allows for. Cards with low Life Of Balance interest rate are known to give lower credit limits than normal cards.

  • hmmm, no choice in cards .... which card should i go for next .... ???
    I have a pickle ...

I have a Balance than needs to move in the next 4-6 weeks on a Natwest Card, i already own a Halifax Card ....

Where can i move my debt without being hit with a 2%.

I have been reading about charity cards, and they seem to have a 2% change on all of them. I have a Barclays Current account, but it seems their site speaks of 2%. (also i had a Barclaycard about 9 months ago, hmm u can work out where the balance came from in the first place).

So what are my choices ? it looking slim for a 9 month one or is it ? 6 month with M&S seems painful, as that will land me in xmas time !

You could try the Post Office Credit Card. 6 months 0% interest for both purchases and BTs (without a fee and you're able to transfer at anytime during the 6 months). If you're a member of a cashback site, apply through them to get something back. I believe topcashback.com are currently offering £13 cashback for every successful application.

AFAIK you can have a second Halifax card here (I have had two 0%'s from them). You just can't transfer the balance from one Halifax card to another. So if the debt is elsewhere - you say Natwest - I believe all is well
