You statement may have been relevant, if we were not speaking of placing a PC3200 module in a Motherboard designed for PC2700 or even possibly PC2100. But we are, so you are wrong. Unless you can show me otherwise. Benchmark test featuring such a scenario?

The motherboard is designed to take PC2100, PC2700 and PC3200, or are you saying this board isn't designed to run the RAM at it's given speed?
It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!

Bex is right, ASRock has the full spec online here, which I've been reading:

    http://www.asrock.com/mb/overview.asp?Model=K7S41

It takes PC2100 (DDR 266), PC2700 (DDR 333) and PC3200 (DDR 400) according to that.

    Hi there

I still haven't got round to sorting this out. Can I just check before I order the new RAM. Should I go for 1MB and take the old one out?

You can purchase up to 2 x 1GB. You can purchase a 1GB module and leave the other module where it is.

    Thanks all.

Am going to go with the PC2700 DDR from play.com - £9 cheaper than Crucial now! I'll let you know how I get on!

Definately speedier! Just wish I'd done it sooner now. I ran the Crucial tool on our other PC - will the same memory work in this too? http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1207945

Yes, you can buy either 512 MB or 1 GB. Up to you.
