Intel,
Not sure if that was sarcasm or not? I may be being over-sensitive?
CCleaner (which I use) is a more complete cleaner, but something you have to initiate, the registry patch is a set it and forget it type of thing, that cleans up on IE exit, which I think IE should do by default..Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0 -

Yes you are over sensitive..... so dont worry matey.. as just as you cannot see me it doesnt mean I am not aware of ppls feelings.
I would always advise ppl not to go anywhere near the registry as any stupid mistake can have dire consequences, unless absolutely nessasary..
as the average user doesnt even know what the hell a Temp file is or does
Thats why a third party bit of kit is good as it circumvents any user making mistakes that they wouldnt understand how to reverse via regedit.

Intel,
Ok thanks, it must be my hormones..
I agree about using regedit, hence the .reg file, more or less idiot proof..( or maybe not).Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0 -
Why mess about with the Registry when you can do the same thing within IE?albertross wrote:How to Delete IE cache on exit (the easy way). (for XP)
Save the text between the --'s to a file called clean.reg

Your browsing history of visited sites is still retained in the index directories and this may be an issue for the user. Empting temp internet files does only that, a trail is still left at this point.Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0 -
Interesting, just discovered a handy tool called IndexDat-Zap which shows your browsing history contained in the index.dat files. So if you're really worried that someone might find which sites you've visited, you'll want to delete all these files. The tool has a purchased version which will do that, however you can also delete them manually as described on that page.ohreally wrote:Your browsing history of visited sites is still retained in the index directories and this may be an issue for the user. BTW that site also has an excellent Sudoku helper/solver, which is how I came across the Index viewer.0 -
