was in me local Tescos today and they had 2 graphics tablets for sale, I think they were the 200-v2 and the 100v2 from trust.
    Info on them here:
    http://www.trust.com/home/

I think one was 19 quid and the bigger one 25.

I have not used a tablet before so didnt buy one. I am a Mac operator in the print and noticed they were both mac compatible on the box. I might buy one when I read the details on the trust webby.

I got one of these from the Hounslow store this morning.

I haven't used one before, but after playing for an hour or so I found it very easy to use and great for mucking about with photos.

One drawback (as stated by a previous poster) the mouse is absolute pants, but its no problem to use your existing rodent!

Hounslow had about 20-30 when I bought ours so they may have some left.

  • ALDI in Telford had loads of them in stock. I would imagine there were at least 100 or more of them.

    Hi Guys..

    I was...then I wasn't....was, then I wasn't :P going to get one of these...

My local store (Thamesmead SE28 in London) had loads and loads....I looked at them and was impressed with the quality. Bu the main reason to get one was actually for my young kids.

They are 6 and 4 and love using the PC but struggle with the mouse.... they love drawing pictures and I thought it would be good for them to use. Also liked the idea of handwriting recognition to help them perfect the shape of letters and numbers.

Also I do a little bit of photoediting but myself have veered away from doing much as a mouse is just not precise enough.

Do you think the tablet will be good for kids to use too?
I am now very tempted to buy one regardless now.

I've never used one but in my opinion the answer would be very much yes.

My five year old daughter has one of those etch-a-sketch type things with a stylus and loves drawing stuff but gets really upset when she has to wipe it to do another drawing.

With this you could save each picture for posterity!

But it's much more than this and in adult hands can be a very powerful artistic tool (a friend at work is an amateur artist and uses one to very good effect) or can be used much more precisely than a mouse in a photo-editing package like Adobe Elements (or Photoshop if you're rich).

So go for it, but I must admit if Kieran doesn't come through for me I'll be straight into Aldi on Monday to find out why the North-East has none left but there seems to be plenty elsewhere.

Well I did buy one today.... Thamesmead still have loads of them....

Got straight home and started using it....with the kids eagerly trying to get their hands on it too....

After about an hour I have decided that I will return it though. It is undoubtably a very good price but I don't think it would be strong enough to take a bashing from the kids....as it was they were struggling to understand how to move the pointer around (don't touch the tablet - just hold the pen a few millimeters above it).

We enjoyed using it and I can see the various benefits of having it but after the novelty wore off I was left thinking that it would just get stuck in a drawer somewhere.....at £25 I rather spend that cash on something that is likely to get more use. ???

Also did anyone notice (doesn't affect the tablet adversely in anyway) but under the tablet surface there are some occassional whoite marks....dots... more like dust trapped underneath? I looked at a few tablets and they all seemed to have this to some degree or the other.
