Kaupthing Edge CHAPS Transfer

I've just had an e-mail from Channel 4 News requesting an interview tomorrow morning, but they want someone from London. As you can see from my tag, I'm not... Anybody in the London area willing to speak on behalf of us all?0

I imagine, as will all these issues as soon as MSE have a firm grip on a fact, rather than a rumour, they will update the thread mentioned, as they have done with the Icesave issues....0

I have money in the ether too. Did a BACs transfer on Sunday night and no sign yet. Who was the earliest transfer not to have their money yet?0

I have also been approached by the news - BBC to see if I would be willing to go on air unfortunately I am in Chester and they are looking for someone in London. Any volunteers? At least the press are showing an interest if as usual the Gov and other official bodies don't seem to be.0

Come on guys. We all wanted to raise the profile of this situation. Is there a ready volunteer for my message or trevs707 from Channel 4?0

Having transferred some money by BACS from my Kaupthing account on Monday 6 October, I became increasingly concerned this morning when the money still hadn't arrived in my linked account.
Customer service at KE advised me that the money had left KE and was back-logged at their clearing bank, Natwest. She was unable to advise when the money would eventually arrive. I then queried whether they would be able to guarantee CHAPS transfers, she replied no, as Natwest also handles them. She also admitted to a flood of people trying to withdraw their money out of KE, hence the backlog at Natwest.
(I guess with the new instant inter-bank transfers nowadays, there are probably fewer people employed at clearing centres therefore unable to deal with the sudden demand?)
Hope this information is useful to other people waiting for their money.0 -
I transferred all but a few hundred out of Kaupthing Edge - using CHAPS - yesterday morning at about 8.30 am.
It has still not arrived in my nominated account (Lloyds TSB) as of 4.30 pm today.
I finally managed to get thro' to a person at Kaupthing at about 11.30 am today and the lady said that any transfers that had been made and were showing as left my KE account would go through. However she could not tell me how long this would take and that I should keep checking my Lloyds account to see if funds had arrived.
Has anyone else experienced this or can they shed light on info about the delays?0 -
dutch123, I suggest you read this entire thread first... There are hundreds in similar situations, many transfering with CHAPS days before you haven't got their money, so you'll be waiting a lot longer than the majority! That's the idea of the forum, read first.....0

Just spoke to a guy at ING and he said he had just had an update thrust into his hand that ING will be writing to KE customers in the next month or so telling them of changes to their accounts etc.
Still doesn't help with the CHAPS/BACS payment. Was told by KE that ING had suspended all CHAPS/BACS transactions, this I was told at ING was not true and to go back to KE???????0
