Still waiting for my BACS effected Tuesday October 7th at 10am.
No indication from HSBC that anything on the way.
Another weekend of worry ahead.0 -
I strongly suspect that Panorama won't be covering this issue tonight as they've put this on their website:

People that initiated BACS payments are being told by their receiving banks that there IS something on the way.
People that initiated CHAPS (inlcuding myself) are still in the dark (and will remain so until the money hits their accounts).
This is entirely consistent with my understanding of how these two types of transfer work.
I am pretty confident now that the vast majority of people will be happy tomorrow. Those that had easy access savings accounts that is.
Oh so it is an EASY ACCESS Savings Account that I have ...that's the best joke all week!0 -
Weather the Transfer was origionally Chaps or Bacs is now irrelevant.
All the transfers will be by standard Bacs and as ING stated Chaps fees charged will be refunded.0 -
ES10: "Oh so it is an EASY ACCESS Savings Account that I have ...that's the best joke all week!"......
......yep that's right and I'm sure that KE's lawyers would argue that the words "easy" and "access" apply solely and exclusively to the word "account", not the money contained in the account as such and per se........"you mean you actually wanted to have easy access to your own money? We thought you meant you just wanted it to be easy to log on to the site and look at the numbers"
Come on, this is 2008, after all. :-)0 -

Wrong. I was told at least three times by KE and ING that the CHAPS payments could not be cancelled once they had been started (but they can obviously be stalled!!). They can still send by CHAPS and refund the CHAPS fee on the basis that we paid for a fast service and didn't get one.0 -

There are serious amounts of money yet to be refunded. If you want a joke thread go and find one because you’re only adding to the length of this thread with your rubbish and it will only aid in it being closed sooner
Luke, ignore it.
I, for one, appreciate the humour.0 -
Just checked with my bank the Halifax and was told they can't tell me if there is a Bacs payment for Friday but check Tomorrow as it might show up then, great help not. Fingers crossed.0
