Assuming if it does end up back in the KE accounts (which Martin seems to think it will), then I assume there will be a sudden run of CHAPS and BACS transfers out again, ended up with a similar mess as now.

I don't think I would try to transfer mine out again - for a while at least. I just want it to be somewhere, rather than between accounts.

Obsolutely, we could end up in one big vicious vortex, never being able to spend our money. If mine does end up back in KE/ING it can flippin well stay there, I've had enough and my laptop is worn out.
  • Which would you prefer, wait a couple of weeks or possibly anything up to 6 months?!

I think the European Law states 3 months maximum for the FSCS to pay out.
  • I have just had a VERY alarming conversation with the escalations / customer service team at ING. The man I spoke to kept reading me the official blurb that Martin and others keep quoting. I asked him to put down his script and give me some truthful answers to my questions. He admitted that even priority cases (house completions etc) are not getting through in the main part. He also said that although the official line was that payments were still being processed, that anybody who is being given eta.s for the arrival of their money is being !!!!!!!!ted to shut them up. I told him that my funds were urgently needed for payments and asked when it was likely I'd receive my money. If I at least have a timescale I could make plans accordingly. He told me there was absolutely no point checking my receiving bank balance every half an hour as I have been as the payment would be very unlikely to arrive this week. I kept pushing for when it might arrive. He said I should be grateful it was not ICESAVE as I would be waiting months for sure. With Kaupthing it was 'likely' to be less. No explainations why, and when I pushed for such an explaination he reverted to the official script that payments were continuing to be made. I feel like I am in some Kafkaesque nightmare.

All this from somebody in customer relations who was supposed to be there to calm me.

I wish I could be part of the happy crew on this forum who keep their blind faith in INGs !!!!!!!! press releases. MONEY IS NOT COMING THROUGH AND HAS NOT SINCE FRIDAY. Something fishy IS going on. I have been panicking somewhat about the situation but I am now seriously worried that the money is gone for good. If we have to wait weeks or months, that is a long time in the current climate. Compensation schemes could well have gone belly up by then.

    Very worried. :-(

PMSL.......You could very well be right. However, bringing certain issues of this nature to the forefront of a media campaign at this early time could very well put all of our savings into jepordy with a barage of mass hysteria!

I for one think that Martin is being very diplomatic and spot on with his stance. However, I do think that the majority of our accounts are actually frozen rather than backlogged - If all our cash is with ING as stated in all their propaganda, then why can't we CHAPS some funds out today with a guarantee that it will be deposited within the normal timeframe of that system?

I enquired through ING if I could possibly have £250 (To test) transfered today by CHAPS & they informed me that it could be some time before it entered my linked account. I asked her to elaborate "some time" & she couldnt tell me even if it would me complete this month, never mind this day!!

Think we could change the coffe morning into a beer afternoon??
    Non illigitamus carborundum!!

Does anyone know whether ING have made any official promises regarding interst on the amounts suspended in hyperspace? When i called yesterday, the tele operator could give no assurances.
  • To all people who dont know what an 0845 number is, IT IS A LOCAL RATE CALL COSTING 3p a minute. KE dont make money off the calls! If it was an 0800 number KE would pay for the call and therefore would not be able to offer the good rate.

It is your choice to call them!

    Fom saynoto0870.com...
Alternative numbers to try for ING Direct - some freephone, some regional codes
    ING Direct 0118 9388151 0800 3768844 Also: 0118 9388181, 0800 3761111, 0800 3765050, 0800 3766565, 0800 3766666 & 0800 3768877
    0800 2793737 0800 3765300
  • After my converation this morning with ING I think it's highly unlikely that anybody will see any chaps money reach their accounts this week. Might head down to Ladbrokes and place a bet on it. I've got to recover my losses somehow!
