Not ringing me back, not transferring money, just sweet FA.
Thats very insulting to the people in the contact centre who may be out of a job soon. They are doing all the can but it is very limited at the moment.
With everyone ringing and emailing them I am sure that they are not intentionally ignoring you!
Just be patient and show a little bit more respect! Monkeys?! Grow up!

I agree with you entirely but there are any number of "logical" (at least in ING's “mind”) reasons why Chaps payments were going through on Friday and not yesterday or today (yet). The frustrating thing is the not knowing.
For instance, who exactly is "manning" the KE transfers. It can't be the usual ING staff as they will be dealing with ING's pre-existing customers. The implication has to be that KE staff are still handling much of the day to day stuff.
Pre-buyout KE will have had enough staff/sufficient systems to cope with "normal" business activity". It is now be being asked to deal with an unprecedented number of transfer requests with the same staff/systems.
One reason might be that all chaps payments requested up until 7/10 were put through on Friday and the plan was yesterday to start dealing with the equivalent BACS transfers. It may be that we would prefer that they operated bacs and chaps transfers simultaneously, or prioritised chaps, but each is just a different approach.0 -
We have all been suckered,ING can keep on saying indefinitely no need to worry you will all get your money.Look at it like this they come along and buy a big chunk of K/E savings you don't seriously think they are going to do their best and give most of it away again.
For the hundredth time THE UK GOVERNMENT PAID ING TO TAKE ON THESE DEPOSITS, probably the full $2.5bn. Do you really think the UK government would then let ING NOT pay it out to UK depositors? Or get some assurance up front that the money would go back to UK depositors?
Why is it that most people put a lot more faith in the totally mixed messages they are recieving over the phone from a group of overwhelmed, demotivated and probably un-informed and under-trained customer srvice staff MORE than the official IN WRITING announcements from HM treasury or ING? Unbelievable0 -
Ah well checked account and nothing there or pending from 08/10!! Oh in reply to earlier post re; chaps clearing...Isnt Nat west owned by RBS?
I think they would probbably do the chaps first , then to let those go through they'd do some bacs and so on and so on...so by close of play or after 2pm someone should have something...other than a headache;)0 -
I agree with others, we all have a lot of money missing, hundreds of us here and potentially tens of thousands with KE accounts not on this forum. One case isn't more important than another, they are all of equal importance, ranting and raving will get you nowhere, except disliked by others and by call centre staff.
This mess will get resolved, it could be a whole lot worse, all we are getting is rumour and counter rumour, I think until a week has passed giving ING sometime to sort out all of this, we really need to sit tight.0 -

Yes they are in the same group of companies but are separate entities.
KE are in effect customers of Natwest. Not RBS.
You buy something from PC World and try and sent it back to Dixons they will tell you to go to PC World!
Dont try and be smart unless you know what your on about!0 -

Agreed! There are a lot of hysterical people on here who need to take some serious chill pills.
I do agree that the thread is getting a bit silly but can completely understand why. No one has ever been in this situation before (I assume) so no one knows what's going to happen/what they can do/who they can trust etc.
I'm very worried - but at the end of the day the banks are NOT allowed to rip us off - ESPECIALLY with all of this going on. It's not like we're all trying to get our money back from dodgy festival ticket touts.0 -

If you look through the archives, the mood was pretty relaxed on Friday. It's only the fact that ING Direct seems to have stopped making transfers yesterday (as KE did a week ago) that's raised anxiety levels again.
Kaupthing Edge was telling us that our money was safe on guarantee even as they knew they were insolvent (and had, for example, stopped processing transfers for that reason without telling us). That's why people are a little jumpy and not quite able to relax with 100% confidence when ING Direct is saying the same thing.
For the record, I am trying hard to relax and forget about the missing money - but I am nervous, and will be till I see the cash in my account.
This is my beef. I was able to make the withdrawal via BACS, I was not prevented from doing this and my account was not frozen (as I explained to the ING rep yesterday). Therefore, my money went somewhere....to bolster up a floundering company. This seems to me to be misrepresentation at best, fraudulent misappropriation of funds at worst.0
