No.. but we did buy some chicken nuggets from there on the strength of a TV advert by some attractive, if rather strident young strumpet. They weren't very nice.

Chickens have wings, legs, breasts and a parson's nose - no nuggets.

Perhaps I was mistaken then, maybe it was turkey twizzlers.

    Yes, less than £50k
I was reading that 95% of Icesave customers have less than £50,000 and I think it was 300,000 people with accounts. You would think that was rather smallfry, or am I being naive? I'm thinking that they could honour all deposit refunds.
Am I way off beam here?

    £4.5 billion, the BBC says.
...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.

    what savings :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

if i had savings how would i have afforded my ridiculously over priced house that i can't possibly afford to keep? ;)

This is the crux for me. What do you do? Do you bail out and help those that have chased the rainbow of rising house prices and now find themselves in difficulties?

To do this would penalise those that have been more prudent with their money ( as our glorious hipercritical leader is proclaiming that we should have done ) with higher taxes to pay for any bailout. Or do you leave the people to it and cause untold suffering.

Lowering interest rates immediatly penalises the savers out there, and the interest you gain from a lump sum will be swallowed up by rampant inflation.

    Tough times ahead for all.

I've got some savings with Icesave. Tried to withdraw it at the weekend, but I suspect that it will reappear in my account tomorrow as there are suggestions that BACS transfers have not taken place. That'll teach me for leaving it to the last minute!!

Not my only savings, but a big chunk of cash. If I have to wait to get it back then it will be a bit irritating. It don't get it back then I will be really p1ssed off. Not the end of the world though but I feel really bad for people who need access to their money and can't get it..............

15,000 savers with Icesave had more than £50K deposited

    I had 38K in Icesave.

Not any more though, I follow the financial news on a daily basis and knew there were risks associated with the Icelandic banks.

The first sniff of trouble last week had me withdrawing my cash.

All these idiots blaming Martin for the loss of their cash should be looking a bit closer to home.
