Mum called back and said it was from a Cancer Research shop. They were selling them as a small line so maybe if there's one near you, you might be able to find it. I don't think it's out of print because we got it quite recently really.
Good luck with your book search. I love reading with my son.May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0 -
Have not read what others have said but I feel that the Graffalos books are extremely good. They are rhyming stories that have a good tale that developes your child. For example one tells of an old woman who eventually learns to appriciate what she already has.
You can buy them really cheap on

Try the Jez Alborough ones about Duck - eg Duck in the Truck, Fix-it Duck. My just-two-year old loves these. Rhyming stories with humour and great illustrations. And The Gruffalo, and Peepo, mentioned in an earlier thread.
Have fun!0 -

He likes the usborne range, the gruffalo, dear zoo
but his favourite at the moment are Spot books (pretty sure that wheres spot is on redhouse), and also 3 little pigs and goldilocksGive me the boy until he's seven and i'll give you the man.0 -
My DD (2 years 3 months) loves reading to herself (!!!) my DH & I have bought a few books with minimal words & good pictures so she can fill in the gaps herself. We really like Hug (fabulous pictures - story of a monkey, Bobo, who is looking for his Mum so he can have - you guessed it - a hug). She has a couple of potty books that she reads to us & a shaker abecedarius (A-Z of animals) - she plays find the camel - or whatever other animal she fancies... For when she is in listening mode - we love the Lynley Dodd books (fabulous rhythm - makes them easy to read!!) & Julia Donaldson books - the Gruffalo is a classic & we like the Snail & the Whale too (lovely tale of co-operation - never to be underestimated when you've got a 2 year old & an 8 month old to get out & about!!)
I'm just training to be a primary school teacher & have just found out this is a really nice way to get very young children into books - storytelling etc - glad to get some affirmation that what you're doing is right for a change.....0 -
Mick Inkpen's books are good. Ours liked the Wibbly Pig series. The little extra details in books like this makes them readbale again and again, like a little snail hidden on each page.
Can You Spot the Spotty Dog by John Rowe is a good interactive one too.0 -
My Daughter is 2.5 and her favourites at the moment are Maisy Mouse lift the flap books, and Mr.Gumpy by John Burningham. And Richard Scarys nursery rhymes.0
