  • Biblejohn, I'm curious now as to what it was you bought where the size makes such a vast difference to the price! Some sort of collectors' item I suppose?
There's a huge difference between blatant lies and economy with the truth (which as I said, in the case of the sleepsuit I was selling, was due to time constraints and not a deliberate attempt to deceive).

i can lead you to a page that sells nightsuits brand new for that price, with a guarantee.
But are they warm quilted ones with SPL football team designs? In any case, it's not as though I listed it with a high starting or BIN price. I was genuinely surprised that the bidding went above a couple of quid.
Anyway, it's sorted now. I contacted the 2 high bidders before the end of the auction and said I thought I should give them the details about the condition before they bid any higher. The winning bidder replied, and she was very polite and friendly, but said she felt the price she'd bid was too high in light of the more detailed information. I managed to remove most of the staining so you can't really see it unless you're looking for it now

and I repaired the holes, which were too small to stitch, using iron-on hemming adhesive behind the holes, inside the lining (1 illustrated here)

then I agreed a discounted price with the buyer.

i probably couldn't lead you to that particular night suit contains mild peril, but i think you've misunderstood me, and maybe others.

it was yourself that voiced concern in post 21, which might have led others to think there was a cause for concern. luckily it's all sorted now :)

i'm not putting the blame on sellers by the way. as you said, you didn't expect people to bid as high as they did, and since then, you've made every effort, as far as i can see, to rectify any misunderstandings.

that's what good ebaying's all about to me, and it's good to see all concerned are now happy

I have just returned an item for refund, and the ebayer gave me a full refund of what I paid plus the cost of the return postage plus a little extra as an apology! I am gobsmacked.
