AVG internal virus database

I have AVG and the icon on my toolbar has turned grey which I know means I need to update something. When I get the control centre up, the internal virus database is red and it says that it is out of date. I have tried right clicking and updating and highlighting and clicking update in the box at the button but it keeps saying there is no new update available.
It also says that the update 'was released on 02/12/05 (30 days ago)' and that 'the last test was run on 01/01/06 at 17:39:42'. Have I missed Christmas and New Year?
I've even tried uninstalling and reinstalling and shutting down/restarting.
What now? I looked on the AVG forum but got no answers there, they just kept saying to do what I already was doing.

Yes - my clock is right, that's one of the things I checked. BUT although I was checking the clock (which was one of the suggestions on the AVG forum) I didn't take any notice of the calender, which was showing 01/01/06

I don't know why it was wrong but once I corrected it, everything was OK.
Now please excuse me while I go and be blonde somewhere else :rolleyes:I'm a little angel
