where do you think i stand with respect to paying the credit card bill? am i required to pay off the credit card and then recoup the money at a later date?
or to put it another way - can my card issuer charge me interest on the amount of the refund between me invoking the S75 and the actual refund?
im guessing that if the card company are jointly liable for returning the money to me then they can't charge interest that money... right?
tom
Am pretty sure if you are disputing a portion of the CC bill, then it is void for payment and interest during the dispute time, but check with you own CC issuer.

Hi, my first ever contribution but hoping someone can help me. I used my credit card to buy 3 return flights, totalling over £800, to visit friends in Morocco. Gatwick to Casablanca then an internal flight organised by RAM to Oujda. We also bought return flights from Edinburgh to Gatwick. Unfortunately RAM cancelled our Gatwick flights the day before we were due to travel on 1st July. We were offered alternative flights from Heathrow for the day after we originally booked. As we didn't want to lose our holiday we felt we had to rebook. However our return Gatwick to Edinburgh flight couldn't be used or even transferred) so we had to hire a car for £144 to get us home. The first flight to Casablanca was so badly delayed that we missed our connecting flight and were stranded in Casablanca airport for 20 hours with NO offers of help with accomodation etc. To add insult to injury our luggage was delayed for a further 2 days after we eventually arrived! Royal Air Maroc have completely ignored our letters, e-mails and phone calls and I wonder if we are entitled to claim anything under section 75 for our stressful and expensive journey. Thanks.0

Same as the retailer you purchased from as they are equally liable, therefore "up to 6 years under SoGA".

Hi all,
I'm a long time reader, first time poster to the site and am seeking advice.
As the title suggests, I bought a car which has several faults that weren't evident at the point of purchase.
I paid £200 deposit on my Mastercard credit card and the rest on my Visa debit card. Total value £3500.
The main fault is that the exhaust box is completely corroded through which will be an instant MOT failure. This would have been present when the car was bought some 14 days ago.
This has only come to light when I needed to change the rear tyre as it kept going flat. When I took it to ATS, they diagnosed it as a run flat puncture where the car has been run flat, then inflated after being driven flat. This also would have been apparent before the car was sold.
As an added sting, they measured the front 2 tyres as they were low, but not down to the wear bars. However, there was substancial uneven wear and a small bulge forming when they inflated one to the correct PSI! Thus, making the car unroadworthy I have had to fork out for 3 new tyres to keep on the road legally. Also, the tracking has had to be realigned to avoid anymore wear on the new ones.
I have tried to civilly reclaim the costs from the dealer who do not want to know (unsurprisingly)... I have quoted the sale of goods act satisfactory quality bit etc etc. I have also mentioned the possibility of offences under the road traffic act by permitting the use of a vehicle in a dangerous condition ( as were the state of the unknown faults on the tyres).
In these circumstances, do I have a claim and is it for the full amount or just the cost of repairs?
Thanks in advance for any legal eagles or advice from others who have been in a similar position.0 -
I couldnt find any thing similar to this, so hopefully someone knows
I paid a deposit for a bicycle nearly 2 months ago, at the time the shop was unable to tell me when it would be in for collection, and they still cant.
I'd like to give up waiting for this with them now, and go elsewhere.
I paid the £250 deposit on my Nationwide Credit Card.
If the shop are not prepared to refund the money, would I be able to go to Nationwide for a refund, or would this not be a valid claim given that they couldn't give me a delivery date to begin with?
Many thanks0 -

Looking for advice Please Help!!
Had bought a laptop in November 2008 from a website and paid through the barclaycard credit card. Laptop arrived and had a lot of problems with it as it was away for repair on two occassions within 6 months from purchase to replace a battery, fix a wifi issue and replacing the blu-ray player.
Now: laptop gets over heated and the port near the power cable is bulged out due to over heating, wifi is intermittent when its over heated and battery is flat etc., Used section 75 with barclaycard for a refund. The website i bought from had gone into administration nearly 18 months ago.
Barclaycard requested various documents which i duly sent and now barclaycard is asking me to obtain a quotation from an approved dealer detailing the problems and amount it charges to fix them. Barclaycard would not pay for this and if and if at all my claim is successful barclaycard MAY look into paying a portion of the monies.
looking at the scenario can i take it as barclaycard had softened and giving themselves in to the scenaerio. is there a way to argue with barclaycard to avoid sending it away for quotation which would cost more than hundred pounds and i am reluctant to do it unless barclaycard pays for it but BC clearly said they dont pay it.
any thoughts on how to make a progress?
i am more than willing to send the laptop away to barclaycard on my own expenses which does not cost more than £30 for me.
any thoughts please0 -
Probably been answered but what if you spent exactly £100 pounds would I be covered (Section 75)?
Getting conflicting information: over £100 to less than £30,000, Section 75, charge back for under £100.00.
What if I paid the £100 via 15%off coupon and £85.00 credit card although item cost £100.00 as shown on receipt?
I paid by PayPal for an eBay purchase.

The criteria is over £100 and less than £30000, so you fail on the first count, also you only paid £85 on your card so fail again, and paying via Paypal fails again see MSE Section 75 refunds, :-
"When you buy through third parties. Travel agents, paypal etc.
You're usually unlikely to be covered when payments are made to a company that isn't the one providing you with the good or service because the credit card company must have a direct relationship for them to be equally liable.
The first main area is paying via an online processer such as PayPal, WorldPay or Google Checkout. Though these can have their own refund systems, they aren't as strong as the legal protection of Section 75."
