The details of the company that has scammed you using the short code 88870 is below:
MX Telecom
15th Floor
389 Chiswick High Road
London
W4 4AL
Tel: 0845 666 7778
cs@mxtelecom.com
Not the first time I have come across MX Telecom for sending unsolicited reverse bill texts. They have a history of adjudications against them by Icstis/PP+:

I phoned the 0845 number and listened to a recording asking me to say our mobile number i did this and they said it had been taken off the mailng list or words to that effect.
Would there be anyway that we could get the £9 back, i know it is not much but it makes me so so mad....if they have done it to us how many more people have they done it to.0 -

Contact MX Telecom again, this time by e-mail asking them to confirm that you have been removed from their mailing list. Inform them that you had not subscribed to any of their services and demand the refund of the £9. Also add that if you have not received a reply within 10 days you intend to make a complaint to PhonePayPlus, (www.phonepayplus.co.uk) the premium rate watchdog.
To make you feel a little better, well sort of, companies such as MX Telecom have scammed hundreds of thousands of mobile phone users, myself included. Sadly not one of the authorities are prepared to protect us from this fraud. Only T-Mobile will allow all customers to protect their accounts and bar premium rate texts, Vodaphone have just started to offer a bar but I understand that not all accounts (PAYT) can choose this service.
Also contact your Network again as they have an agreement with these cowboys to collect the fraudulent payment, to which they can earn up to 50% of the charges. Therefore no matter what they say they have a responsibility to you the customer to act on your behalf.
The only way to beat these scammers to to fight back   :mad:0 -
This company ripped me off as well.. i had £17 on my messages last month without subscribing to anything.. the text message was from 88870.
Please help me how to stop this scam? Also is there any chance i can get my money back?0 -
Hi rakeshunni.
Why don't you read the above posts (should only take a few minutes) and act upon the advice therein.0 -
Somewhere, where you have seen the shortcode number, will have been the charges, terms and conditions. The premium rate companies reckon that if you have read enough to text the number, then you have read the charges etc and so have agreed to them.
There is not much chance of getting any money back, but you do need to send a text with the word STOP in it, make sure it's in capitals and there is nothing in there but the 4 letters, anything else invalidates the stop message and keeps you in the system.
STOP should kick you out of the system.0 -
Another thing to add, pretty much all the of the 5 digit short codes, such as the one above, are premium rate text numbers. There are not any that I know of that are free, so it's something to bear in mind when you see them on reality tv shows, in magazines etc.0
