It's impossible to say if you should buy cover items, as it all comes down to your SA. I find it feels safer to get a couple little cover items for just a couple of quid or so (things that either don't require a coupon or require one you *know* will work, as it seems if it doesn't work and you have to ask them to delete the cover item, then the darn till won't delete it properly and it's a huge mess when you were just trying to fly under the radar!). I usually toss in dishwashing gloves and/or "feminine" products -- you know you will eventually use those pads or tampons, etc!
I have not tried using coupons at SS tills yet, and I'm going to give it a go with a simple, non-glitchy voucher first. I did use a pinky & TS at a manned till, though, with an electrical voucher to boot.
Thanks Skibster, brilliant advice ! I will try the 'glitch' with a few feminine items on a manned till ............... will let you know how I get on. I work in Maidenhead, so in the week tend to go to the Boots in Marlow or Maidenhead. Only usually get into Reading and the Oracle at the weekend. But Maidenhead have now removed their clearance section altogether and Marlow only have a tiny 1 shelf one. So if you spot any good clearance deals in Reading (either Oracle or Broad Street), then let me know. It would be worth going into town for (and of course more of those lovely pinkies !). Thanks again0 -

Hiya
Ok, got quite a few questions -
1. Which shops in London give out no7 till spits rather than pinkies?
2. Which is the best way to use my vouchers, got a £5 off R & M and £5 off no7 both from mailing, pinkie till spit and a normal pinkie - will they let me use them all together? I hate being refused and I always get too confused and end up buying things I don't need for full whack!
I'm sure I had another question but can't remember!
I panic too :rotfl:today I used pinkie and till spit on the No. 7 mirror at the SS but got flustered when the SA came over and started fiddling with the electrical voucher which wouldn't scan (not till spit, not mailing), so I just used the first two and ran! Still not bad for £9.99. Did the same yesterday but used the 3 voucher (mailing electrical) combo and got it for £4.99, but today I realised I put an extra pinkie in the slot by mistake
Try using the SS tills when they are busy, the SA will have to concentrate on 4/5 tills. Scan the vouchers slowly, give the till a chance to register each voucher before trying the next, it seems to take ages, it's really only 15 seconds. Fold the voucher in half, flat before you put it in the slot so it doesn't jam (SA tip). If the voucher is not accepted it will say something like "Voucher conditions not met". You can then try the next. If the worst happens and everything goes pear-shaped just 'forget' your pin for your credit card!
The SS tills in Brent Cross give the No. 7 till spit.
Btw, do not panic and pull out your Advantage card too early..... it will kill it :eek:0 -

I did the same hun and my points aren't showing yet either. It does say somewhere that they should be ready 5 days after your order is dispatched so in my case that won't be until tomorrow anyway IYSWIM x:starmod:C'est la vie:starmod:0 -
oooh, had an interesting experince in Boots this afternoon
am fairly new to 'Bootsing' but have used the odd coupon in the past. Thought i would have alook at what coupons i had and see what i could as i needed a couple of bits anyway!
So, i bought
2x size 4 carry pack nappies for £8.00, £1.00 voucher so £7.00
2 x Pantene Brown conditioner,£2.99, BOGOF, £2.00 voucher so £0.99
a Wispa bar £0.50
1x Head and Shoulders SEL said £0.93, went through at £3.95!!!
1x Boots Paracetamol suspension for Infants £1.85, double points coupon
so first of the double points for paracetamol wouldn't scan, so she voided that and said i could pay seperately and she would the points manually
so paid for thes rest, then i realised the H&S had gone through at wrong price, cue big sigh from SA who went of to check, stormed back holding the SEL which did say £0.93, but were incorrect...she said they had to honour it, so she voided my whole transaction and we started again
My daughter ( who was screaming as she has a fever, hence the paracetamol) meant i rushed back to the car without checking my reciepts, although i did get a pinkie
Got home and checked...
ahem
1st transaction - debit was £12.44
2nd transaction - debit was £1.85
3rd transaction - credit was £19.65
4th transaction - debit was £9.42
so...i ended up paying £4.06...and getting a pinkie!
but she only gave me 4 points for the paracetamol, let alone double points....but overall i gained 68 points..somehow i don't think i'll be going back to complain about this
seems she refunded at full price, without coupons, and then did the transaction again with the coupons. am a littleabout the whole thing, but it wasn't deliberate....
November make £15 per day challenge £422.5/£450 :j

I used the No7 £5 off a £20 spend voucher with 3 of the £6.50 No7 mens products = £19.50 (but 3 4 2 so £13.00), added GWP (0.00) then added No7 make up sponge £4.00 to make total spend of £23.50 before any offers or vouchers.
As previously said the 3 4 2 kicked in and brought it down to £17.00, then used the £5 off No7 voucher and a £5 pinkie. So just £7 to pay :T
Good shop :j
Edit: Of course if the sa will take the till spit as well then you would only have to pay £2...even better!!0
