Climbingoutoftheabys, i am very tempted to start growing my own veg, i know lots of people are doing it now, but it sounds fab when reading your post and seeing how much you can all eat for. It probably tastes much nicer too!

andan are you sure about your intentions here? do you want to grow vegetables because you could list them individually???:rotfl::rotfl:

Seriously, I'd love to grow my own vegetables too, and as for having an allotment...I am green with envy climbingouttheabyss

Now there's an idea piquant, i could list them all individually, just think how long my list would be then!!

I am terrible for buying veg and then not using it, so it often ends up going off, in fact that reminds me that i need to use up the veg in the fridge!! At least if i grew it myself, i wouldn't mind so much if i didn't eat it all, because i wouldn't have spent as much money. Really should just try and eat it up in the first place though!!

I make what we call bottom of the fridge soup, self explanatory, I think and never the same twice! Sometimes, though the veg are past their best (blue and fluffy) and have to go directly to the compost bin :p

There has been the odd occasion, when the soup has been made, frozen and then forgot in the freezer and still ends up in the bin, just a year later than it should have....

  • hi everyone!
hope you all had a good weekend... hopefully will be back online at home from this week :D

big thing for me today was calling and cancelling the halifax card... was almost a bit wistful and they tried all sorts to make me stay, but I held firm and cut it up just now! and i had a £7 credit balance so I paid it to charity because it was money i wasn't expecting  so I feel nice, as well as a further step along that debt free road!

    other things...
    • checked my banking and updated sheet
    • signed up for a mystery shop that will generate a christmas pressie for free :o
    • checked pigsback - do they still do CTs????
    • brought in lunch
    • almost free night at quiz tonight because we are owed a £50 bar tab :j
    that's all!
well done everyone on a productive day :T (how long til payday?!)

And then theres the odd blue fluffy potato that gets thrown in the compost bin and decides to grow into a potato plant whilst it is in there:rotfl: and has now transformed into a whole bunch of potatoes:T

Well done Claireabelle,:T :T seems a bit of a quiet end to the dreaded halifax card though- maybe you should have had a ceremony for it. You could have taken it to the pub and seen who could come up with the most ingenious or original method of disposal:rotfl:
