Monday 6/10/08 What small dfw things have you done today???

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.

Hi to any new posters and a big shout to the usual gang:j

Today I will:
  • Check online banking
  • see if any clicks
  • storecupboard lunch and tea
  • make a loaf in breadmaker
  • Go for swim and jacuzzi to use gym membership
  • Make a batch of yoghurt
  • Pick the last of my carrots from garden to use in tea
  • Look for a cheap holiday somewhere sunny for November:p
Have a good day everyone, the sun is still shining here but it is really cold - winter has definately arrived. Busy day ahead at work with lots of meetings will need a swim and jacuzzi tonight to unwind:D

Catch up with you all later, (((hugs))) to anyone feeling low or poorly, hope you feel better soon.

Morning all, to all those who aren't having a gret day, i'm sending a big hug.

My day didn't start off too well, have just sent a snotty message to a mystery shopping company. I picked up a job from them late on friday, when i tried to phone to book an assignment date there was no one there, so i emailed them instead. But because the assignment date wasn't set within fourty eight hours, i lose the asignment, despite it being their fault!!

    Anyway, onwards and upwards today:
-Am off to college in a moment
-Will then go and do four mystery shops

-Will come back and write up reports
-Will keep a look out for more bookies to sign up with

-Will leave car at work, which is close to town, so that i don't have to pay any car parking fees!!
-Take drink and food to college so that i don't buy anything unncessery
-Have sorted out stuff for college
-Will work on nvq work when i get back home
    -Will work on case studies

-Will arrange meeting up with a friend soon so that i can do her treatment on her which i need to do for her case study
-I'll get in touch with some places regarding placements
-I will start my counselling assignment which i didn't get done yesterday
-Will continue submitting website to search engine and directories
-I'll read some of cousnelling books

    -Ill work through emails
    -I'll do some surveys
-I'll try and place a matched bet

    -I'll make meals from storecupboard
    -I'll sort out financial papers

Think thats it for me, if i think of anymore i'll add them. Have a great day everyone and speak to you all later.

    Sigh* list envy again*sigh

Well done on the saddle - had a row with a pal - never great - black clouds today until I sort it out - then blue skies hopefully!!

This weekend was expensive, so this week is going into serious NSD Madness.

I spend £50 on new motorcycle mirrors
£20 to Stock up the freezer
    £3 on Fresh veg
    £25 on Christmas presents
£10 taking my parents out to lunch
£40 on Fuel for the car

However, I did make a loaf of bread, and a VAT of soup (now frozen) from the veggies I bought.

I will be making another loaf of bread tonight, check my internet banking to see how bad it's got (though it should be 'ok', I just spent more than I wanted to), I added another £4 to my £2 coin pot, and 60p to my 20p coin tin, I got a £35 refund for a jacket that was out of stock months ago and they never told me until I realised that it hadn't arrived in the post.

The tube was also a nightmare on Friday night and this morning, so I'll be customer chartering myself a £4 refund from them as well later.
