Mornin'
Well is a lovely sunny day out there and I know I should be bounding around with energy .. yeah, right !!!
Since I'm currently off work with depression and stress, I try to take each day as it comes. Some days are ok-ish, but I'm having a down-day today (I just accept them and go with the flow). Trying to get back to work, but counsellor and Nurse at work say that although I'm on the mend, I'm nowhere near ready yet. At least I've been with my company for long enough (927 years !!!)to get 6 months full pay if sick, so that I am very thankful for.
Due at the docs this afternoon, for another sick note and more pixie-pills !!!
In the meantime, I'm going to try and do something positive today, whether I feel like it or not. My food cupboard needs a good sort out, so I can see exactly what I've got and what I need. I'm trying to stock up on a few basics for winter such as pulses, dried peas, pasta etc and buying a few bits each weeks means it doesn't add too much to the shopping. Already taken advantage of a few jars of cheap 4p curry sauce from Mr S.
On a brighter note OH and me stripped out the greenhouses yesterday and I now have an awful lot of green tomatoes. Will see if any of them turn red this week, else I could be making a heck of a lot of green tomato chutney next week, but that always makes the house smell nice.
Thanks heavens for this web-site. I'm a real addict to it. Yes I've got debts, but I'm managing them down. And I take a lot of pleasure from gleaning all the money saving tips I can. Small savings can give me so much pleasure - its like winning the lottery
have a good day all.Debts (incl Mortgage) at LBM (24/09/08) £102849  Now £0. DFD 1st July 20190 -
LOL! I promise you the contents are lovely even if the packaging looks like a BLue Peter experiment gone wrong! If I wasn't MSE I'd have bought a shiny new envelope for it to go in
:money:
It was really cold this morning, thought my little car wasn't going to start, but now it's boiling in the office
Right sorted manager out, will be paid 2 x 26 hours and have the rest as annual leave to take from now on, which is jolly good news!0 -
Hi Marg  :grouphug: your counsellor and nurse are probably right - it's great that you're feeling on the mend but the worst thing you could do would be to try and get back to work too soon and take a step back - thank god you are getting the sick pay so money isn't pressuring you into going back early.
Sorting your food cupboard would be a great achievement - my 11 month old DS emptied my pasta/rice cupboard last night forcing me into doing it! It would have stayed a tip for god knows how long otherwise!
I don't know where I'd be without MSE, a lot poorer, and with less friends. Hurrah for Martin! :beer:0 -
^^^ ditto that!!^^^^
morning marg! if this is you when you feel blue! i can't wait to hear what you have to say when you feel "up" - lol!!
welcome to the mad hoose!I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....(it's part of my charm!)0 -
Maz how often do you swim?
Am thinking of going this week - I would like to start running again but think I need a gradual build up of something gentler before I can start going frequently. Two years ago I ran 4 times a week, swam 3 times, did 2 spinning classes, and went to the gym 2 or 3 times  Then I got injured, and then I got pregnant
I don't expect to have time for all that but it seems so hard to start... 0 -
also, where is everyone?0

i seem to be swimming 3 times a week at the moment... which is a lot, if i think about it! wow!
Generally i take Erin swimming on a sunday and we manage a bit of swimming at that session but mostly it is just for fun.... (she also has a lesson on a saturday am - so she goes twice a week, which is good for her to see fitness as the norm, unlike my childhood...)
i currently have my lessons on thursday nights which are finishing this week... thru choice on my part as i've learned so much i feel i can do the rest alone....
and i have 1 early morning swim when mum sees Erin to school for me....
I try to run at least twice a week, once with running club and once with runchum or more often alone. (if i do a 3rd run i am astounded!)
I appear to do rather a lot, but none of it particularly well... i really don't think i should be 16 stone should i???!!I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....(it's part of my charm!)0 -
Morning all.
Kind of lurked over the weekend as was studying. Got heaps done and feeling a bit more positive about it all.
Hubbles has finally felt Nean kicking and is delighted. He's feeling blue though as he has what looks like an abcess on his right butt cheek and can't sit down properly... Trying v. Hard not to laugh at the poor soul...
More studying this afternoon but just relaxing this morning. Doing a bit of knitting. Got sleeves and back of abnother jumper done for Bean and started a panel for a strip blanket so along with the study and housework actually had quite a productive weekend.
MerMaz - PM me an address and they are yours. Will be next week before I'm near a post office though.
Enough of my witterings.
I_A and Jinky big hugs
BB you keep that man of yours in line or we'll be there with a lot wprse than frying pans!!hope your class goes well today.
