Not a good day today. Spent all afternoon at hospital with Hubbles. He needs an op under general anaesthetic tonight to have abcess removed. I know it is routine but it is a general and I'm stressing so bad. Going back for visiting at 7 and one of the girls is coming with for moral support but right now I'm in bits :(

Easy to say from the 'outside' Luc, but he will be in safe hands, trust us. xxx

I've just been rather assertive. I bought a book from Amazon Marketplace as part of OH's birthday present. It was £10 cheaper to buy from there (huge hard backed book - £17 rather than £27) and was classed as 'new'. It's arrived and isn't new :( It is in very good condition, but lots of the glossy lettering on the spine is missing, there are some dinks in the front cover, there was a mark on it (which I managed to wipe off) and the corners of the cover are 'rounded' , I guess due to the book being used over the years. I've emailed the seller to say I'm disappointed - if I'd wanted used, I'd have bought used. Normally I wouldn't be brave enough to email a seller but I just feel a bit miffed as it's a lot of money for me to spend on a book.

awww hun! poor man, and poor you.... but remember this, he is a fit strapping fella and is in probably optimal shape for the general... and dare i say it, better now than when Bean arrives....

i suspect hospital are being careful cause of his history, and i can imagine you're glad he got it in time...

glad you have moral support with you.... let us know how he gets on....

hi babe, not sure what your legal rights are on this one... if i don't get the answer i want, i tend to call up again and speak to hopefully a different agent who might be more reasonable about whatever it is i was asking for....

maybe some of the others can advise? or better still copy your post into a brand new thread and you might get the attention of the clever peeps, as they don't always read the daily chat....

however do stay and join in the chat in general too, it helps!

Thanks BB and Maz. My sensible head tells me he'll be fine but I guess hormones are playing a bit of a role in the weepiness. The docs have said its quite common in younger men and it is basically one of those things.

Definitely better now than January. I told him after this and the root canal he's got coming he's not allowed to be poorly until Bean is in school! :rotfl:

Quiet caht today. Glad you could get a genuine smile today I_A. Making the break will have released a lot of pressure that's been on you both.

Glad the course went well this morning BB. Sure you'll keep it together just fine. I guess if you survive this week you'll be able to cope with pretty much anything!

Luc - my OH can't go near a hospital without getting stressed so I can sympathise...will he be able to sit down afterwards!

Maz, is your finance manager a man or a woman...I used to have a girl work for me who straightened her hair every morning...you should be applauded for taking the effort to exercise, who cares that you do your hair at work....you need to look presentable..

IA - I was very mature at 23 - married own house, kids, responsible job! However, I do seem to be regressing.....this was quite obvious from the fact that me and SIL were fighting over a karoake mike... we were both of the opinion that we were Leona Lewis!

Jet - you need to give the boys the radio one flirt divert number....

BB - well done, only four more days of the week from hell to go. what chinese meal are you cooking.

    Love to everyone else

sammy - I'll be demonstrating sweet and sour chicken, egg fried rice and stir fry mixed vegetables with cashew nuts along withdoing stuff on equipment, food regions and basic ingredients. I wanted to do some of the 'staples' of chinese takeaway and need to cook enough on the evening for 7 or 8 people to all have a try.
