BTW, I presume it's in here somewhere, but they are currently trying to put together a deal to package up a deal similar to the B&B one for the Landsbanki deposits...... - if that comes off then you'll all be fine and quickly, which will be very good for everyone. BUT I SHOULD SAY THAT IS ONLY THE LOUDEST RUMOUR AT THE MOMENT, PLEASE DON'T BANK ON IT......

    Hi,
I was wondering whether anyone managed to get some money from Icesave today?
I did request to transfer all the money this morning at 5am by CHAPS. My account is showing almost zero now and according to Icesave all is processed but nothing in my linked account. I trust we are all in the same boat ...what a mess?
    cheers
  • What is the chance of Labour being re-elected if anyone loses money? Nil. They may not be trustworthy, but they're not about to shoot themselves in the foot. ................
    Horrible times.

This problem is bigger than politicians. They are the ones who take the flak (and when they quit politics become directors of the ones pulling the strings)
    eg

John Major...director of Carlyle Group...see link
    http://www.hereinreality.com/carlyle.html

Tony Blair has I understand got a £500,000/annum salary as a director of Morgan Stanley ?

Gordon Brown is told what to do.Tony Blair left him with the '5hitty end of the stick'.Having said that,if he didn't know what was coming,he truly is a retard !

Watch ZEITGEIST on Youtube..there are plenty to choose from .they will enlighten you ...maybe ?
For banks watch the Federal Reserve ones
or a 2hr hour video which covers most things...

  • Here we go! The media vultures gather for a story about our sorry plight, shedding their crocodile tears.
    Tell them to f*** off!
They bear a heavy responsibility for helping to spread the fear that is feeding this meltdown.

Are you on about the national press spreading fear ?

Please can someone answer the following questions as I feel the government bail out is inequitous
    3) as a taxpayer that is completely unaffected by this why should my tax money go to bail out people, who will in all likelihood take there money overseas etc and plunge the economy further into recession

    4) Read the fine print you numpties, I cant tell my mortagage company that I do not wish to pay my mortgage, simmilalrly your deposits were unsecured so deal with it

dappodan1, you are an IDIOT. If you were in hospital, dying, I could similarly say "why should my taxes help an idiot". Except I wouldn't, because I'm not a bitter a##hole like you.

    You are the prime numpty.

Well if I cant pay my mortgage due to shortfall in savings because of this and price rises etc I think I will tell my mortgage company that if banks cant protect my money , I will not bother to pay them either anymore and to ask them to speak to Icesave for their money.
  • nickydee, I totally agree. Ridiculous interview as usual from john snow. Aggressive but totally uninformed. Martin is not to blame for this and gave as much information about Icesave as possible and quoted the 35k rule frequently.

thats the point you pleb!!!! for every pound spent on bailing out individuals that were benefitting (i.e interest payments) from a contractual relationship. The government. Is now going to guarantee personal wealth thereby having less to spend on people dying in hospitals, education crime etc.

I say stuff them and continuing spending money on retards like rabbitmoon so they can have their medication.

These are nervous times but please can we all stick to any facts about IceSave and what is happening - I am regularly checking the thread for updates only to find peeps arguing about opinions rather than the facts we all so desperately need right now. I know we're all frustrated and we all have thoughts on this, only trying to get more factual posts as Martin's Savings tab one has nothing new...

Totally unrelated. Your mortgage is based upon your income not your savings. All of a sudden these die hard capitalists that were creaming it with investments, shares, ISA's, Buy to Lets etc have overnight become interventionist raving communists. HYPOCRITES. You bet on Black well its Red deal with it
