Nah pal ... you are definitely the idiot, and genuinely successful people never feel the need to be boastful in the way you are. You enjoy acting smug and dishing out your hindsight babblings.

I second that...I too work in financial services, but I'm embarassed by my industry at the moment, not proud of it!

This very thread was just shown on channel 4 news! Jon Snow was grilling Martin and accusing him as Woodyrocks said, but that's what he always does to guests and Martin really did put him in his place.

Ch.4 news - Martin talking about this. He has been accused of giving 'diabolical advice' to prospective savers.

I do feel sorry for Martin. People always have to have a scapegoat.

Yes, it must be time to blame the innocent

The advice on this website has been clear for a long time. If people don't have the common sense to read it and think about where their money is going, then it's hardly the fault of MSE.

I took the risk of leaving cash with Icesave (but well under £35K). It's come back to bite me, but I expect to receive my money back at some point.

Is Mr Lewis a registered financial adviser ?
It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.

I've just searched the entire MSE database and can't find ANY posts by Rachman relating to Icesave before today.

If you were so well informed, why no warnings from you??

Just wanted to bump up this, hopefully it will put some peoples minds at ease.

    Bump

Yes, I have just watched Martin Lewis on the news saying exactly the same, and the fact our Goverment may step in to help cover the first £50,000 along with Iceland.
    Fingers crossed we get help!!

Are you watching the mother of 4 on BBC24 who has over £200,000 in Icesave.

Surely the government can't allow people to lose their lifesavings.
