    dappodan1 is beyond medication.

Decent normal people reading the normal advice in the press, rather than risking themselves to a bunch of quirky individual advisors, took a best buy on the market to a bank allowed to operate in the UK as legit and mentioned by most of the British press. You make it sound like these decent people were a bunch of crooks for using an internet bank. Most peiople that did some resonable research saw that this was supposed to be covered in the event of problems by Scandinavia, so yes I agree they and not the British taxpayer should honour this commitment to invest in the standard internet bank, but most people on here just want to know they are going to have this honoured by SOMEONE.

thats the point you pleb!!!! for every pound spent on bailing out individuals that were benefitting (i.e interest payments) from a contractual relationship. The government. Is now going to guarantee personal wealth thereby having less to spend on people dying in hospitals, education crime etc.

I say stuff them and continuing spending money on retards like rabbitmoon so they can have their medication.

dappodan, I don't think you have a clue about much at all, and are most likely just a teenage student. If you don't have savings with icesave, then what is your motive to come on a board like this and just be dumb? Grow up.

Totally unrelated. Your mortgage is based upon your income not your savings. All of a sudden these die hard capitalists that were creaming it with investments, shares, ISA's, Buy to Lets etc have overnight become interventionist raving communists. HYPOCRITES. You bet on Black well its Red deal with it

cretin! people that are looking after their money and being as careful as possible are not crooks or creamers, just people that work hard, following some of the standard advice where to put their hard earned money, not financial experts admittedly, but they do not deserve this. If financial institutions cannot give me my money back why should I give them theirs back?
I didnt put it on a roulette wheel you moron.

I'm fairly confident that the first £50k will be compensated. If Icesave arent rescued by a buyer, the first £16.5k will either come from Iceland government or the reciprocal scheme with neighbouring countries. My main concern is how long its going to take - one press article said it could take over a year, which I hope doesnt happen.

its not a time to panic........i have £50,000 in ' processing ' with icesave..........what that means is anyones guess but its not the time to panic and FEAR ..........at worst you will end up like most of the people in the REALWORLD........with no savings and no money.Maybe its a wake up call for us all.The truth is this whole system and greed and even this site stinks when you look at the way the world is and the Love of money , ' Accumulation of wealth to keep us feelingsafe ' ......we all save and build and consume and compete as were all so damn lost .Its not the time for fear and not the time to panic but to look at whats real and what counts - Were all going to die........even the billionaires.....its time to look at whats real. You will get upto £50,000 back i wopuld say unless the whole banking system collapses worldwide and uk plc goes insolvent.

I personally have alot to lose - thats my inheritance and all i have Accept LOVE and the belief that the love of money is the root of all evil......

its time people started to value whats real and not money maybe and arnt we being taught this ? what you notice is that NO ONES in control of this , .........FEAR is dominating this via stock brokers and money men who fear not making bonuses to pay HUGE morgages......i hope we all learn from this but please dont fear for lose of money , there is so much more to life ( and i stand to lose £50,000 or maybe scrape it back but i believe that what matters is that i dont lose the plot and remeber whats real.......money isnt , wealth isnt , whats real is what we share , memories , love for other people and above all what we believe.

If your one of those who see nothing but money / accumulation / fast cars and desire then maybe its time you asked yourself who you worship ?

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mammon

invest in a little more love , sharing and above all trust in life.......its ends very soon for us all and lets hope we get some cash back ;) but not sell our soul to the fear of not.

    Everythings perfect./

    Hi,
I was wondering whether anyone managed to get some money from Icesave today?
I did request to transfer all the money this morning at 5am by CHAPS. My account is showing almost zero now and according to Icesave all is processed but nothing in my linked account. I trust we are all in the same boat ...what a mess?
    cheers

Hi, I set three transfer of funds going yesterday, to be actioned today (earliest movement), one by chaps & two by bacs. Early this morning the funds had left the account, but the Chaps has not arrived at its destination.
After I contacted Icesave today for a second time (after being lies to the first time), I was told the transfers would not happen and would bounce back into my accounts. So at present all my money is in limbo, along with a lot of savers on this forum!

We are heading into a global recession on a scale much larger than the great depression of 1929. The Far-East markets have gone through something simmilar in the 90's and have never fully recovered. At the best it will slow down to a malaise, there are going to be redundancies, job losses, house repossesions, massive turmoil in the car industry, Aviation industry, financial services etc etc.

Whats the point of cherry picking individuals out to guarantee their personal wealth. This is going to hit other individuals as hard yet they are not protected. As a taxpayer I am not happy with this. People with a level of savings that are unprotected are probably the same people that wanted the miners batton charged in the 80's.

hi, it seems that we are all in exactly the same situation. My money is also in cyber space just like you. I was wondering how are we going to prove that we haven't received the money into our accounts! what an admin nightmare this is going to end up before they can speak to poor people like us.

When I've done enough reading on it and understand it better than I do today (which I will freely admit I know not enough about at the moment) I will... promise....

OK so you don't know about Standard Life, but why no warnings from you on Icesave before today?
