Hi Rosekitten, thanks for that info - really useful. I dont suppose you can pinpoint which of the £ shops you managed to get those in - the LFC stuff would be ideal for my OH/son.

    Thanks

    Sx

It was Poundland that had the footie stuff in

also they may still have them in stock
if you have a 99p shop anywhere close by they
were selling a whole box still still shrink wrapped
of Liverpool FC collector cards I think it had a
100 packets in it,each packet had 7 collector
cards and a sticker. With Shiny and signed cards
    randomley in the packets.

We regulaly check out all the £ shops throughout
the year we have to Harry Potter fans here I
got them each a HP torch in a blister pack that
also had two Duracell batteries in Poundworld
these at the time were £6.99 each in Toys R Us.
HP action figures have been in Poundland for
a while now and if you live near Tesco at
Warrington they have been selling the HP
Room of requirement set for £3.97 got
two of these as well as even on ebay the
cheapest I have seen them for is £17.99
and in Toys R Us £34.99.

If you can knit or sew can you make him a scarf.gloves/socks in his footie team colours? Ask around for scraps of wool or fabric, or try asking on freecycle.
Could you work up something on the computer on the meaning of his name & pop in a poundshop/charity shop frame? Or make a cardboard frame from cereal packets & paint it yourself!
Frame a favourite photo of him & his mates?

I bought a evil kenevil for my 30yrold bro a couple of years back from there, was so excited when giving himthe gift, as we had had one as kids and used to fight over it all the time untilmum eventually would take it away from us. Christmas day arrived and gave the gift bro opened thought it was so fantastic that he was going to keep it nice by leaving it in the box!!!!!!!!

In the run up to Christmas gadget/Christmas shops tend to pop up in vacant units - yesterday in Birmingham I saw a couple of GimmeGizmo shops that had some great things for kids/teenagers at a reasonable price
  • Hi,

For the run up to christmas me and my boyfriend both make each other advent calenders/stockings for the run up to xmas. We have an overall budget of £20 and after taking away the cost of making the advent calender, it works out at just over 50p a day.

Anyone have any ideas of what I can put in it?

    Thanks

Hi Hepburneyes - have a look on some of the other threads on here - someone found that there's a 'name a star' website, where you can download the certificate etc for free. Might be worth a peep! I'm sure someone kind will post the link for you - i'm not sure how to do that! Good luck. i'll try and think of more ideas for you...
    Just £10,852.28p to go...

    Trust that little voice in your head that says "Wouldn't it be interesting if...";
    And then do it.
