Excellent thread. All others involving KE etc wound me up when doing some lunchtime viewing with the amount of people that flinch with their cash at the merest rumor of anything slightly different. I feel southed after reading this one though :D Currently got just shy of 25k with them in a 6 month term account, and will continue to put more away in the stadnard one each month.

I wonder how some people would cope in a real crisis. Let's hope they never have to find out.

Imagine if these headless chickens had been around during the blitz. Germany would have won in a fortnight.

I've been saving up a deposit for a house and so far I have saved £30K. This savings is in Kaupthing Edge. My house was purchased off plan and we are due to complete this December/January. It's worrying me that the FSCS may take up to 6 months to compensate any deposit should Kaupthing go bust. Would you withdraw the savings from Kaupthing Edge now?

If you're worried move it, if you're not worried leave it. No one here can give you a definite answer - do what you want to.

I've got just over £30K in KE as well and I can't afford to lose it or wait for a pay out if it all goes wrong. All of my bills are paid from the interest. The financial institutions are falling like rain so what's the point in moving every time there's a downpour. Hold steady and ride the storm. Life's a learning curve stay icon6.gif
  • I also have money in KE. Are we covered up to the £30,000 with KE if things do go pear shape?
Somebody let me know when to start worrying!?
