Get a gmail account. In the 5 or so years (guesstimate) of using gmail I've had to report maybe one or two pieces of spam in my inbox. Gmail's spam filter is fantastic, and it's never accidentally filtered any mail I actually need either.

you don't have to be/have ever been a member of facebook- if someone has your email address and they join facebook then there's an option when they join to "import contacts" from their hotmail/yahoo/whereever.
If they had your address then they might've added you (possibly by accident as sometimes these things send even to people that you don't select)

I wouldn't worry too much about- it's almost certainly someone you know/knew- perhaps Darla is a nickname or abbreviation or perhaps it's someone you emailed in passing (maybe via ebay, a job application or any number of things)
If it really concerns you then the best thing to do is just hit delete :)
    hope this helps.

agree with above post it could also just be some one whos emailed u once or you have emailed them once when i did a search for people from my address book i had people who i have delt with on ebay and people who i have mailed once from a company so at some point you have probley sent or rec an email from darla i wouldn worry too much :)

Thanks Adro in post 19 this is the answer all hotmail account users need! Is it possible to put this answer at the top of the thread?

i get loads from people telling me they have dead relitives and they want to give me millions of dollers im sick to death of them and have resorted to sending nasty abusive replys it doesnt make them stop but makes me feel a wee bit better haha

Be careful with this! alot- not all, but alot, of spam is sent to random made up addresses, and when you reply, they straight away know that someone at that address exist and will cotinue to contact you over and over again. There are various reasons why: some are on commission, some reply on replies to keep the company running, some need clientel... some need legal loop holes...the list goes on- save yourself from the countless replies and do not reply- you will just get more spam!

Umm, read my reply above your post, think some people do, they are a company searching for a customer base, they need replies to exist. This is one of the ways they do it, unfortunatly for many companies, it does work, so they keep trying till tey get somewhere.

And unfortunatly there are also those daft enough to actually place and order...
    Dont understand either!
