people keep suggesting posting a SOA, the OP is ignoring the requests,
OP either post your SOA or explain to the posters who are trying to help why you ask for advice and then igore it.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.
  • I am not ignoring the requests - I took time away from the computer last night to clear my head ok? I feel that post was a little harsh.

    Here it is:

    Little part time job 100
    TOTAL 1210.40

    OUTGOINGS

Food 120 (this includes dog food which I order from Landywoods)(I also use this budget for presents for birthdays anniversaries xmas)(and the inevitable so and so is leaving at work/coffee club)
Gas 34 (switched this is cheaper than previous)
    Union 8.20
Dog ins for 3 dogs 36.85
    water 38.46
    tv licence 11.95
    council tax 95
electric 59 (switched this is cheaper than previous)
    Boiler cover 2.50
    DEBTS
    mint card 130
    egg loan 143
    egg card 40
    plat card 60
    bank loan 208
    car loan 84.09
    barclaycard 60
    TOTAL OUT 1210.83

as you can see there is no room for mot car service dentist etc. Now I will be away from my pc part of this afternoon so will answer any queries then.

I have stopped sky (that was 17 a month) we very rarely go out, no magazines or newspapers subscriptions or anything like that.

For those of you who have posted positively thank you, I feel much happier this morning as i can see there is light at the end of the tunnel! I have tried the 0% approach and have been refused.

you said earlier that you and OH both have separate debts/accounts etc.

is the soa just for your debts/half? how complicated is the split between how much you each earn and have in debt? do you split things in proportion?

would it be easier doing a sort of joint soa?

depending on where you live, your water bill could come down - do you have a meter?

?stop union subs while you are so hard up. definitely visit the old style board for tips on reducing your food bill to the minimum. how much is your dog food costing per bag/month etc?

can you do any more overtime in either job?

Your outgoings don't seem to be too much over your monthly income.

Do you absolutely need the car? Is it used to get to work? You'd save £124 a month if you got rid of it but sometimes they are a necessary evil arent they.

Have you looked to see whether you can transfer any of your credit card balances to a 0% deal or a low "life of the balance" transfer card?

Have you looked at consolidating all your debts onto one loan and seeing if that's cheaper? You have to make sure you get rid of the cards though to avoid the temptation of spending on them again.

I'd agree that a 'joint' SOA might make it easier for people to see the situation as a whole

could you post the balances of the cards/loans and the interest rates etc?

    thanks x
  • Hello again

Hubby's debst are seperate but he pays the mortgage and all related things also pays for his daughter (that sounds bad!).
I did try for about 18 months to do without the car relying on lifts and things but it got very awkward and my work is not on a bus route.
I can do some overtime in the little job which will help.

The consolidation I have thought about but the interest would be huge and I really want to avoid that!
