                    Hi all
Normally I am very cheerful and keep my chin up but lately I am finding it harder and harder. It didnt help that hubby almost burst into tears the other day over his debts (we have sep bank accounts and sep debts)(always have done) and it made me realise how much we are really struggling. we have cut back on everything (and I mean everything!!) to the point where we eat one meal a day and survive on toast.
I am seriously considering a DMP and have looked at the DMP site but to ne honest am absolutely terrified. How many of you are on a DMP and how long did it take to sort things out? We are meeting the bare minimum each month but this cannot go on now.
I am sorry for rambling and I know you will ask for a SOA but believe me, there is nothing any of you wonderful people can suggest about cutting down on things!
so..............................what happens with CCCS?
Thank you
1 step xx

Hiya, sorry to hear your so stressed, but there's always a solution - Martin said so himself!
An SOA would be really helpful to figure out if you're suited to a DMP but if you're struggling this much, it seems likely.
http://www.makesenseofcards.com/soacalc.html is a good one as it's really comprehensive.

Hi 1 Step, sorry to hear you are feeling so low.
I just have to say a quick WOW - just looking at what you have achieved so far - that is so amazing, well done:T .
We joined CCCS in June this year. You can do an online debt remedy enquiry (and you dont have to commit to anything just yet) if you want to just have a look at how things may pan out. You need to insert details of your income and outgoings - the first time I tried that I just did estimates to get an idea of what it would come out like. When we finally mulled it over again and decided that we had to take another approach to dealing with the debts, I put all the correct information and then submitted it for processing.
If you are feeling up to doing that, it might help you work out your next step.
You have done so well with your achievements so far - you should feel very proud.

            Hi
It might be worth posting a SOA on here so we can check it over & suggest cutbaxks or just ensure you've included everything - you will need a detailed one for the CCCS.
use www.makesenseofcards.co.uk & click on format for MSE at the bottom once you have done it.
We're ready to help however we can!SOA = Statement of Affairs (to find a SOA Calculator, google 'make sense of cards' & click on calculators tab > Statement of Affairs)0

Hello! Sorry to hear things aren't great at the mo.
I had my low point and lightbulb moment in January and my DMP with the CCCS started in March. And it was the best thing I could have done. The first couple of months can be a bit grim, fielding creditors' calls and letters, but once the DMP kicks in, it all settles down.
I used the CCCS' online debt remedy. Once you submit it, the CCCS will send you a pack of info, including a letter to send to all your creditors advising of the DMP. You also have to sign a "contract" that you return to the CCCS - it also authorises them to act on your behalf.
You make your first payment to the CCCS by Transcash in the post office. Subsequent payments are by direct debit. You pay the CCCS on the first of each month and the CCCS pays your creditors on the 25th of each month - these dates cannot be changed (even though some creditors will try to insist on different dates).
I'd agree with other replies about posting an SOA - people on here give some great advice on where to cut back and make savings.
Good luck and very best wishes.Debt Jan 2008: £45,566. *** June 2013: DEBT FREE! ***
Paid back just under £50,000 due to some interest added.

HI there - post a SOA and we'll take a look.
also is there anyway you or your husband can take on a part time job - a couple of evenings a week in a bar/babysitting/taking in ironing etc even delivery for fast food companies (you get free food - I'm thinking about your diet of toast here!) believe me you will find a way to get through this together - its not going to be easy but there is a lot of people in the same position right now (we were in a bad place about 6 years ago due to having a massive wedding - it got out of control but we managed to become debt free after a long slog - my husband wasn't impressed with the 'value' loo roll so I cut up some newspaper into squares and put it in the loo instead - he didn't complain after that!).
Look forward to seeing SOA and seeing if we can be of any help.
 All the best LoulaBelle0

            Hi 1 step closer.
Sorry things seem to have come to a head like this. Have you tried juggling the cards using balance transfers or tried getting new 0% cards?
I appreciate that you may not think there is anything left to cut back on but hopefully CCCS will be able to assist. They may advise you to pay only a token amount to your creditors while they contact everyone to arrange new payments, but they'll inform you of how and when to go about this.
