    If you do go in the Mazda 6 direction don't buy the diesel before the "face lifted" car came out in 2006. The older diesels are not very economical, more costly to fuel than the petrols and had reliability problems. Stick with the petrols.

    V late i know! but the mk2 jetta has 23cu ft boot -way ahead of any others mentioned here - which are between 17 and 19cu ft
    Only Rolls Camargue had 25cu ft
    Vauxhall Belmont gets close with 22cu ft
