I'm surprised no one has mentioned a Saab. I don't know how they compare to other saloon cars but I had the opportunity to look in the boot of one (1998 model) the other day and it was enormous!“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0

And according to the advert in New Scientist, the Saab has a boot that can be measured in cubic litres.. that means they extend into 6 dimensions, instead of the usual 4.... that's a lot of extra space, if you can access it....0 -
nissan primara hatch back has large boot0

I agree with a previous poster above, BMW 520 has a large boot.0

Go for a 528 or 535 tho. 520 is slow and thirsty!0

Mazda 6 very big boot available as hatch, saloon and estate with clever easy to fold down seats.
Fun to drive, reliable and resonable cost of ownership.0 -
Wow that's loads of suggestions. I'll run them past my big bro who has loads of experience as a mechanic so will probably know the good and bad points of each one.
I'm a part time music teacher, so I'm pretty skint! Apart from boot space, cost will be the main factor, then reliability and petrol/diesel consumption. Unfortunately looks and feel will be coming in last :undecided
Thanks again everyone - these forums are so handy!
