For those without Property Bee, this place, well situated for a viscious Friday night walk home beating in Dalston, or death in a drive by in Clapton - went on at in March 2008 at £220,000.

for many arty or musical people Dalston is a very desired area, hence the prices.
they probably lived there while at university

for me it's a definite no no though
  • That is not the case in the UK, where there is still a shortfall in supply of housing compared to demand, hence the fall shouldn't be anywhere as bad.

there's plenty on rightmove for sale, may be the buyers your're talking about are just too fussy on price.

it's like any area there are good properties and bad properties. that is not the greatest and I'm being polite.

there are some very nice properties in Dalston. but as I said Dalston is not for me.

however it is close to the City and properties are a very good value per square foot for London.
it up to the individual I guess.

The flats's in the far end of Dalston, almost at Hackney Marshes so it's not like you could walk in to the Square Mile.

Seriously chucky old thing, it's a horrible part of the world. One of the few bits of London where I'm reluctant to go for a pint.

yes i agree it's horrible and definitely not somewhere I would frequent. there are much better places to live.
i had assumed it was popular with Shoreditch frequenters.

i thought it wasn't that far down the Kingsland Road to Bishopsgate.
  • In fact I suspect someone trying to offload a house in the Salton Sea at the moment would have a lot in common to commiserate with, to a new build city centre btl owner in Leeds or London.

I'd FAR rather have a newbuild flat to sell in the centre of London than in Leeds, though.

It's a good 2-3 miles to the City from there, though?

That price was just stupid beyond belief.
