I always used to use Tesco, but stopped when they said there was a problem with the delivery. They phoned me up and said I could have it on a different day, or go to the store to collect it. My little girl was only about 3 weeks at the time, so I thought I'd better phone my husband to see if he could go and get it. I said this to the woman on the phone and said to me "Do you want to phone a friend as well?" in a really nasty, sarcastic voice. I just sat there in stunned silence and she said "I was only joking". I think she realised just how rude she had been. Why I never complained I don't know!

This is exactly why I don't shop with Tesco. The staff are so rude! If it werent for customers they wouldn't have a job so they ought to buck up their ideas and be nice (or even polite would be a step in the right direction!!!!). I was repeatedly appalled by the staff at my local Tesco. Shopping should not make me livid with rage. My Sainsburys delivery man is v charming and always has a laugh - always asks after my kids and seems to be enjoying his job. I'm not sure why people think Sainsburys is more expensive - I spend the same there as I did in Tesco, buying the same stuff. Defo worth a try - and I signed up for Nectar so I get reward points too. Clubcard is good, but not worth giving Tesco the custom

Do Ocado deliver to your area. They Tesco price match lots of branded goods. Their slots are 1 hour ones and the late evening slots are free.

I have found them really good so far. One time, the van delivering my order broke down. They rang to explain they might be late. As it turned out they were only 20 mins late (they sent a van from manchester for me!). Every other time they have been on time or have telephoned if they are going to be a bit early.

With the last delivery they even sent me some innocent orange juice as an extra freebie.
Twins, twice the laughs, twice the fun, twice the mess!:j:j

Never had a problem with deliveries - better than great service but their fruit and veg always went off within 2 days - the amount I've thrown away is terrible and I'm not one to throw ANYTHING away if I can help it. Voted with my feet and gone to my nearby Asda - even though they don't deliver.

Don't throw fruit and veg away, compost it :D

LoopyLobes - I can't compost it - we're in a rented house and not allowed. What I can I take to Mums to compost, but it still means I don't have it to eat and I can't always keep it a week or more when its off already. Paying Tesco for compost, bah!

Ordered an item 30/09 and paid next day deliver as not delivered phoned and was promised on 02/10. As still not here on Saturday (04/10) phoned and asked for clarification and compensation. Told would get 10% of the order value (value £150) so £15 plus postage charges back so around £20 and promised deliver today. The good news item arrived today but had email stating I would recieve a partial refund of £12 back into account. Phoned to query as less than promised but gave up after 27 mins at 6p per minute!!

When I ordered an item to collect from the store the next day. They phone me up and told me to 'come and get it', I said 'can I come now?' 'Yes' he said. I said 'see you in half an hour'. Would you believe it - when I got there he had gone to lunch and there was no-one else who could come to the desk!!! I had driven nearly 30 miles and they asked me to come back later.... I asked to see a Manager and then they got the poor lad back from his lunch early.. Felt sorry for him but the sign on the desk didn't say they were closed for lunch and if he had told me, I would have gone straight away.. Haven't ordered anything since.

This happened to me my Mum ordered something and they rang her up on the day and said it was ready to be picked up, so she asked me to go and get it, i did for them to tell me i can't do it until after 4! So why did they phone saying we could go straight away? I was not impressed and did not leave without getting what i went for.
