Asda self service tills

What I want is clear and unambiguous information before I have wasted my time either queueing or walking from one end of the tills to the other.
Well why don't you just never use them if a flexible system is too much for you and let everyone else enjoy the convenience a more flexible system gives.0 -
Because if you could remember from the start of this, I use them because ASDA don't bother to staff the main tills properly.0

Thats to keep overheads down so the foods cheap. Asda has less than a 5% gross profit margin. If you don't like that use a Butchers or Farm shop and pay twice as much.
You can't have cheap food and staff coming out of yours ears.0 -

Maybe, but perhaps ASDA were more inconsiderate by replacing basket only checkouts with self-scan in the first place.Funny, he also won't allow verbal communication, he will only act if theres a sign.
Oh hah hah. What a pity that wasn't what I wrote before.0 -

Why? To save on cost for a business with an extremely low profit margin anyway?
Like I said, if you don't like it, pay twice as much then at a Butchers or Farm shop.0 -
